Possibly .. except that now he's going to be presented in the news again and we'll have to try & endure that false smile of his all the time.
This f@cker is the reason why we pay so much for 3G in the first place, he steadfastly refused to lower bandwidth prices despite Seacom changing the landscape.
Then after he retired from Vodacom he tried to play himself off as 'champion for the people', check on this forum how people told him to eff-off.
This time he started off by blatently lying to this forum .. and you still wanna suck his cock?
Personally I would have preferred he stayed in retirement.

How the **** can you trust a company who present CEO refutes his new appointment via his spokesperson which turns out to be true a few days later. Why did he not just shut is fat gob in the first place and come out with announcement today. It's simple "no comment"

It's just goes to show you how stupid these people think we really are. IMO CellC is a sinking ship. All the rats are leaving but the biggest one of them all is making his way up the mooring rope.
 
May be AKG going to Cell C to make up for keeping mobile prices high for all those years. Just like Telkom is making up through 8ta.

My Vodacom contract is expiring and I wanted to go to CELL C. WHY DAY FRUCK! IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME.

I think they've hired AKC for a short to medium term objective I.e. prepare CELLC for sale, his experience with the Vodafone deal being priority here.
 
Not very impressed with the lies( denials) , first. The description of AKC of some body who likes to be sucked up to, neither impresses me. Then Vodacom and MTN colluding in 2001/2002 to increase the so called interconnection rates fivefold, from 0.25 to R1.25. A very effective way to really make it next to impossible for newcomers in the market to grow their customer base. Initially, in the nineties the 2 Cell companies appeared fierce competitors, but in this new millennium they appear more comfortable with each other, and there were other ways where they rather cooperated than competed with each other to keep newcomers at bay. The case of interconnection fees was clear price fixing and both big Cell companies should have been punished by the competition commission with the required 10% of their turnover over the years 2001-2010. As Vodacom has turnovers in the region of 25-30 billion, and MTN about half of these amounts, this would have amounted to giant sums. Actually this collusion or price fixing was almost as serious as the case of the 4 major bread producers creating artificially high bread prices. We all know that cellular communications have become the major way of telecoms, especially for the poor and people with the lower incomes. In other words IMHO, AKC and Phuthumi Nhleko, and all those CEOs of companies who keep basic necessities too expensive, should rot in jail, together with corrupt politicians, tenderpreneurs and most of the legal practitioners.

And after struggling the first few vital years, Cell C,Virgin and now also Eita will really struggle to become/remain competitive. Interesting Telkom is still owned for something like 50% by Gov, and had about 25% stake in Vodacom. Now the interconnection fees have been lowered considerably, but not enough IMO and Telkom has sold its Vodacom shares , Eita comes to the market.
Another factor it seems to me that SA consumers are not very well informed, rather brand loyal and conservative, in other words, Cell users will rather stick to the old and (mis) trusted and expensive VC and MTN, like brainless sheep in a herd. I believe not many people have made use of the possibility to port their old number to another Cell provider. Last time I assisted my son to port from VC to a smaller cell company in 2010, VC seemed to stall the process for 10,12 days.
