Alan Knott-Craig appointed as Cell C CEO

wait, didn't he deny that he was going to be appointed ?
maybe he wanted to wait for the official announcement...

*spock eyebrows*

*yes, both*

So glad this happened before I'm going to renew my contract with CellC.

If they raise their prices to be on par with Voda/MTN then I'm gonna defect to 8ta...

Lars=unhappy shareholders and happy users
Alan=?????????????????????????????????????? hopefully he can bring CellC back to its glory when it was run under Lars (sigh)

You'd think that 2 heart attacks would make a guy realise it's time to kick back with family and friends? I'm pretty sure he's got enough money to live off. Cell C must have offered him a really fat pay-cheque.

Anyway certainly will be interesting times ahead!!

Well well. After all the earlier denials, it now comes to fruition...

Tremble in fear CellC users. The rest of us, 'Just smile and wave boys. Just smile and wave.'

As soon as I pass by a 8ta flagship store, I'll be porting my MTN sim to take advantage of their prepaid data bundle prices. The roaming agreement works for me and they're much cheaper wrt to my needs.

Hard to believe that I'll purposefully be doing business with 'The Beast', but one has to go where the deals are better and their (8ta) CEO at least has been making some viable in-roads.

Never believe anything until it's been officially denied. Once again this axiom has been proven correct.

Welcome back, Alan

Lars = unhappy shareholders and happy users
Alan= happy shareholders and not so happy users. AKC is know for his strong leadership and for getting things done, but he is NOT known for being user-friendly.

I really don't understand all the negative sentiment to AKC taking over Cell-C.His primary objective will be to gain significant market share and he isn't going to do that by charging Vodacom/MTN prices. In the short term this is a win for consumers.

So he blatantly lied to the general public a few days ago? Nice.

A sign of things to come for Cell C, I guess. We'll miss you Lars.

Say what you will about Alan Knott Craig...but no one can deny that he turned Vodacom into SA's leading network (with most subs last time I heard). He knows the industry.

It will be interesting to see what direction he takes Cell C in.

I think it is the best move Cell C has made in their history of operating in SA.

That's a bit harsh. He was obviously under instruction, from CELLC board, to deny until official announcement was made.

Yoh yoh yoh. I'm sure he still loves Vodacom. Would he want Cell C to give Voda some competition and succeed?
