So, the Giulietta is available and looks haaawt in white.

What do you all think about it? Reliability, resale, looks etc?

I think if I ever bought an Alfa it would be this. With regards to resale and reliability, the mito hasn't done too bad.

Resale is the biggest issue with all Alfa's.
I got a glimpse of what I thought was the new Giulietta yesterday, and shortly after that saw a Mito - both attractive shapes & the appeal of Alfa's is the relative scarcity.

I hate the front. Love the back...
Its a nice drive though and definitely something to consider. If my new job goes well, the 1.4 distinct is in my sites. ( can't afford the qv, and the 1.4 goes well enough)

The Alfa has everything going for it except for resale value, which is a huge problem, as you WILL lose more money down the line than if you were to but one of its competitors.

But in terms of power (125kw from a 1.4), reliability (look at the warranty and service intervals), looks (subjective, but I like it) and scarcity, its a winner.

So jealous...trying to get the g/f to agree that its a good buy....she is too smart for that

Funny thing I went along with a buddy so he could test drive the car and I ended up buying one. :whistling:

All's well in theory. In practice it'll be "it's an Alfa; offer him book less R30k".

I would strongly recommend testing the 1.4 distinct model as well.. I think its good value and might be a better buy than the qv

Ah, I just can't see myself downgrading to the 1.4 (I know you won't see it as such!). I test drove the QV and fell in love :)

He's not back yet so it probably broke down :D

Haha...classic.

Well peeps, all I can say is that I am in love.

That little 1.4T engine pumping out 125kw, 250 N torque and combined guzzling of 5.8...its a winner. I drove the white one and the styling is something else. Just get up close and look at the grill, the mesh. It screams 'drive me!!!'. Performance wise I was very pleasantlly surprised. Ive driven a number of 1.4T cars (Rocco, Megane Coupe, Audi A3) and that Multi-air takes the cake. So responsive! Driving position is also great. Felt super comfortable. Its smooth and I didnt see a bump so I went flying over it. I think the sales lady peed her pants a little. lol

I love the dynamic setting. As soon as you put the car into Dynamic it puts its serious hat on. Everything immediately tightens up. Becomes so much more responsive in every way.

Interior, I have seen better but still, its beautiful. I have one or 2 issues with high gloss parts that will probably scratch but should I get it I will treat it like a princess. Also, although the seats are very comfortable, I wasnt extatic with the cloth used. Then again, it was a blue/grey effort. I would def go for black cloth. Leather costs a whopping R12k!!!

Overall, there isnt much you need to add to this car. It has multi function and an arm rest as standard which is an option on the A3 Thats already a 4k saving right there.
17" rims as standard are sexy as f#@k. Doesnt have cruise control as standard which is a bit of an issue but not the end of the world.

Im really considering this now. I love love love it! Most fun car I have test driven in the past 2 months!
