Look we have been over this :) Science also "knew" a lot of things in the past. ;)

God will not be proven by science, EVER.

That would make the proven(by science) god not = God.

Anyway I agree its silly but it is their right to do as they wish.

Atheists have lately become just as bad as the religious people in trying to convert people... Let the people believe what they want and make up their own mind.

And before someone says: "Yeah but the church is fibbing and the atheists have science" sod off, I also "believe" in science/know more about science than the average person, but I am still religious.

From experience, it usual is the people who have no clue about the rationality of science and science knowledge in general that spouts that nonsense.

Perhaps Atheists like Dawkins feels that if humanity accepts the fact that there is nothing after death then people will start living for what they've got and not for what they might get after they die. (note: No Devill I'm NOT saying you lead a dull and meaningless life :) )

It might be but then you can also argue that Religion keeps people "nice" mostly. I mean give to charity and all that :)

But its funny that some atheists spend more time on religion than most religious people :p:D

But like I said before I feel each to his own.

1) Because you believe in the value of respecting authority.
2) Because your parents instilled you with moral values.
3) Because you think your own intellectual self-advancement is a good thing.
4) Because your life should never change no matter what happens tomorrow.
5) Because you are wiser than the prophets of doom.
6) Because the school will eventually be re-built or you might have class outside.

I could give you a thousand good reasons.

Actually, if you sit down and think about it like a good little atheist, you'll realise that selfishness and materialism are great recipes for an UNhappy life.

Too true, im sure if you pull a demographic you will find most aethists to be in the middle upper class bracket, they suffer from a media induced arrogance thats sick. Not all Christians are mindless hicks, please get that idea out of your heads.

Its a painfull truth, but it seems the more powerful a nation becomes, the easier it is for them to abandon God. They get entangled and infused with materialism to the point of loathing others who dont, chocking on the vomit of superiority and success.

Atheism is a nasty and disgusting little habbit that you need to get out of your system. Accept mortality and believe in some force other than yourself, its the only way you will be able to differ yourself from a mindless animal.

Please evolve, believe.

Why do you tie selfishness and materialism to atheism? Why does the way we value (or don't value) things have anything to do with our belief or lack of belief in a higher power? :confused:

Yeah, right, dude. Tell me exactly who is the most powerful (and possibly the most Christian) nation on earth, and then try to tell me *they* aren't slaves to materialism. To be honest, I don't think you can do it.
