yes the Church.
Charity isn't based on religion always.
Of course it is. Charity is a central tenet of Christianity for example.
It got so hammered through the ages that people are taking it for
granted. There has also been at least one study which shows that
religious people give more money to charity.
Anyway these evangelical atheists are worse than the most ardent, stubborn
Christians who try to convince people their brand of Christianity is king.
Why can't Dawkins' supporters get it through their thick skulls that people have free will to choose for themselves if they want to believe or not.
Dawkin's himself is influenced by things. His atheism isn't a spontanous decision, something made him go atheist. Total hypocrisy.
I do know that some of these atheist book writers write for
extreme left wing newspapers too.
This is a lame idea to the extreme. Imagine if there were Christian symbols saying "God is our Saviour" on the buses...I can just imagine the outrage by atheists. But now because atheism is the 'new black', it seems fashionable to continue this through hypocrisy (as Gary pointed out). You can't say Christians should stop preaching and then preach atheism.
central tenet they don't always practice, don't be fooled by statistics though they are the biggest lies ever If I don't recall wrong Warren buffet gave away most of his money to charity?
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/06/26/business/26buffett.html?_r=1&oref=slogin about 80% of this money to the foundation Bill Gates made, gates being a atheist and buffet some sort of agnostic, honestly religion has nothing to do with how much you give away, that is based on the content of your character.
You've never seen billboards for churches where its like "The end is nigh.. What will happen to YOU?"
If one side can do it, so should the other, but really... Neither should.

Your character is based on what your parents taught you and what the prevalent trends in your society are. Christian morals have become deeply ingrained in modern Western life, so they are no ubiquitous and taken for granted. We don't have gladiatoral entertainment and slavery for instance anymore. Buffet's father is a presbytarian Christian and Buffet has said he
has deep respect for him. If anything be said Buffet's donations come
from the spirit of charity which was bred into him from his early years.
If you don't like studies I'll give you some anecdotal evidence, everyone
I know who is religious (or spiritual) gives more than full atheists.
Don't forget also that Christians fund their churches which do missionary work, run hospitals, schools, universities and care for the old, poor and sick.
There are 1000s of these institutions out there.
Except now we have this new crop of hypocrites who are evangelising absence of God.
Look we have been over thisScience also "knew" a lot of things in the past.
God will not be proven by science, EVER.
That would make the proven(by science) god not = God.
Anyway I agree its silly but it is their right to do as they wish.
Atheists have lately become just as bad as the religious people in trying to convert people... Let the people believe what they want and make up their own mind.
And before someone says: "Yeah but the church is fibbing and the atheists have science" sod off, I also "believe" in science/know more about science than the average person, but I am still religious.
He doesn't seem to like it when others evangelise, so yeah I can see how that makes atheists the hypocrites. LOL![]()
don't see any religious advertising there? pics?
