All the big DStv changes of 2021

DStv offers a range of packages for various budgets and tastes, and the broadcaster made several changes to its channel catalogue, pricing, and other services this year.

The changes come as many South Africans have begun to adopt internet-based streaming services over broadcasted television.

DSTV delivers what I pay them for so no complaints.

They really not trying very hard, but that's their problem. I no longer care, as they have faded into the way distance past here.

I appreciate how the decoders still have both the coaxial and optical outputs.

MultiChoice also offers a streaming-only DStv Premium package for R699 per month — R130 less than its Premium decoder-based subscription.

The deal is only available to new subscribers who take up the special before 14 January 2022.

Once you’ve taken up the promotion, the discounted price of R699 per month is available for the first three consecutive months of subscription.

Then stop repeatedly showing the incorrect price.

So no sport package only? Jeez that was already an issue in 2003, I think. Does Rambo still feature in the line up? LOL.

My relationship with DSTV is now down to one single thing: They show live rugby, I still hang around. The moment the rugby is on any other platform, there will be a vacuum where I stood.
I am keeping an eye on Amazon, who started showing live rugby. But they must still formalise that and then I need to know how much they will skim off me extra for the rugby.

I read that and now I'm sad for anyone who forks out for Premium and Compact Plus.

The streaming packages are a joke as well, lmao. Its amazing how much value Netflix provides being so much cheaper and on demand as well.
No adverts, better picture quality, only watch what you want to watch when you have the time to watch it. No repeats unless you want it to repeat.

See us Millennials can't afford to think like this, mostly because we are poorer than the preceding generations.

My options are: DSTV or fibre Internet. I work from home and live on the Internet (especially during the COVID era) so fibre Internet + streaming service it is.
What I'm saying is: even at half the price it remains in the "unaffordable" bracket because I still have to pay for decent Internet on top of it.

And watching professional sports is a distant memory for me.....
