those black wires are neutrals (or very well should fcken be). I dont really mean to be funny though but if you aren't really sure about this kind of basic its prob not best to play around?

I hear you. Best to be safe. I'm just treading carefully with this. I want to be 100% sure before I attempt any connections. I will test them with a multimeter. Hoping to DIY else I will get my electrician in.

Would like some insight as to how the wires should be connected to the Shelly device.

Procedure for wiring would be per the instructions leaflet in the box.

Neutral to N
Live to L
Appliance (output to O)
Ignore the small + & - as this is intended for DC wiring

You might experience problems with using a 1 for a ventilation fan automation though,
Motors generate power when turned off which will interfere with the relay's ability to close circuit as it lacks reverse power protection

Okay, so happy to report after testing wires at the wall outlet, black wires were in fact neutrals and I've successfully connected the Shelly 1 device. Working as expected so far.

Is there a wiring diagram for a Shelly 1 for a 2-way light switch i.e. 1 light controlled by two light switches and how to wire it?

Attached photo for reference. It's the bottom switch in the photo.

Yeah, I checked continuity with that wire from both switches. It is indeed the common wire.

Yes. They use DHL Express. Shipping is quick and painless, albeit not the cheapest. You only pay customs/import-tax a few days after the order.
