Lol, I need to print another one for my HA pi. Did one for my Octo, it actually comes our real nice.

I like the flirc case - I have two... passive cooling - the case is the heat sink

Unfortunately I don't see anyone importing them anymore.

Could probably just be made easy enough. Print a case that takes into account a heatsink and source one through somewhere like DIYElectronics or other electronic supplies.

My issue is more power, don't think I have a free socket in my cabinet anymore, not sure if HA would consume too much power if I ran it off a USB from one of my servers.

I use one of these connected directly to the battery terminals:

Haha, I haven't checked this thread too often, then I see a few posts back people talking about the time setting changing due to daylight savings when the internet update checkbox is checked, I had the same issue a short while back! Started wondering why my time based rules weren't working properly anymore and then I noticed that the time was out by 1h and figured it was probably an internet daylight savings time thing. Good tip to change the timezone on the website to sort the issue out, will try that. (for now i just leave update from internet unchecked).

Installers should actually take the time to explain all this ****.

I'm still printing the housing for the Pi3 - I'll have everything configured today - then just need the cables and installation - so I still have a day or two to figure it out.

I've never had to shut down my inverter - what is the proper way to do it? I'll need to open the front panel to install the cabling for solar assistant - would prefer to do it without live power running through the thing.

You're plugging in a network cable, you're not going to shock yourself...

You could even grip the network cable 30cm away on the protective surround and push it in, if you are worried about coming into contact with anything

Problem is - I need to run the cable through one of the ports at the bottom - worried about inadvertantly touching a live cable, or shorting something that won't like being shorted.

The manual doesn't say much - it says to press ON/OFF. That will still leave live power into the inverter

4.1 Power ON/OFF Once the unit has been properly installed and the ba�eries are connected well, simply press On/Off bu�on(located on the le� side of the case) to turn on the unit. When system without ba�ery connected, but connect with either PV or grid, and ON/OFF bu�on is switched off, LCD will s�ll light up(Display will show OFF), In this condi�on, when switch on ON/OFF bu�on and select NO ba�ery,system can s�ll working

Get your installer to tell Sunsynk / Deye support that you are not in GMT+1.

Guys who've done solar-asssitant on a Pi(3) - how long before it comes available on the network?

As per their site, it doesn't output over HDMI - I can see it starting up and booting - and then going blank - but - after 15min, nothing on the network via cable, and if unplugged - no wifi AP.

EDIT: Nevermind - forgot I'd named it and reserved the IP for retropi.

Check the CT arrow/direction is was installed as.
Apparently the installation manual is incorrect.

Current transformer. It's a coil that gets wound around your mains so that the inverter knows not to push too much power back into the non-essential. Basically to prevent you net pushing back into the grid.
