All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

why has this thread been moved to the health and leisure section? Sure it should stay in the electricity section as before??

Hi all,

Apologies for jumping in

Can anybody recommend someone in the Cape Peninsula area who would be willing (and able) to look at my installation ? Kind of a second opinion, but fix where, and if, necessary ?

I have a Sunsynk 5Kw inverter with a Hubble AM2 battery and 9 Sunsolar panels.

My problem is that changes to SOC settings on the inverter don't seem to "stick" (pressing OK - no lock out).

New installation completed beginning March. All seemed to be running ok until the installer put the geyser on non-essential and added a CT coil.

Is this something that a well qualified/experienced electrician could investigate, or would it need to be someone with inverter/battery experience ?

My installer is too busy with installations and hard to get hold of. Other installers that I have called are not too willing to take on possible issues from another installer (which is understandable)

Any and all help gratefully accepted. Thanks

Having some hassles with my SolarAssistant set up.

My batteries shut down early hours of this morning due to an extended outage, this also took down the Pi. When the Pi came up again this morning it wasn't on the network. Looks like the microSD just catastrophically failed and wouldn't want to mount no matter what I did.

Now I've lost all that historical data and have to start again from scratch

Grid notifications
Have you checked the app permissions and also the notification settings(both android related).
If you go into the app, click me on the bottom right, then click the bell on the top right hand corner.
It should show all your notifications.
If those aren't showing then you might need to look at your plant settings.

I had an SD glitch as well. This is a question for their support.
Where backup?

Looks like both the SD cards I bought (same type) are having weird issues right now. I picked up another one earlier and it's working fine.

They do need a backup/restore operation, especially seeing it runs on notoriously unreliable sd cards.

I did - on iOS. All permission granted, notification toggle on etc.

What might need to happen in plant settings?

Check the CT arrow/direction is was installed as.
Apparently the installation manual is incorrect.

Why would you want to change SoC settings? They are provided by the battery's BMS.

Do you mean the timer settings (System Mode screen)?

I am getting quotes for a 12kW (3ph) Inverter / solar system. Originally, was keen on Sunsynk, but some suppliers are coming back with quotes for a Deye inverter.
I know that they are internally the same, but if I went for a Deye, would I be missing out on anything? Is the integration with software / loggers and things like Home Assistant better/worse with the Deye vs Sunsynk?

Thanks!

Now I can see the cycles :( Rather high considering - 1.5 cycles a day on average. Assuming it started at 0 when installed.

Remind me again which batteries you have (sorry) - different batteries count cycles differently (although the 'standard' is a full discharge and charge)

Some people have mentioned that the cycles reported in SA seem to be double the actual cycles for some batteries. Would need to confirm with a RIOT for the Hubbles or similar.
