I'm open to correction. I had the same q for FW... it's a 1c 200Ah battery, it should be able to do max 200A. I know ratings on breakers are for test purposes, but even 160A continuous is less than the 200 the battery is capable of.
What's confusing is that the spec sheet for that breaker has max current as variable - assuming dependent on the breaker you buy, but it still says max 160a continuous and 100A rated (I.e. tested).

To add to the confusion, the battery is rated to be paired with up to 10kw inverter. That demand is already going to hit 200A if I'm not mistaken... but there you go. A question for the FW fundis.

... how else is one meant ot interpret this:

Can a 5kw Sunsynk/Deye be wired to 2 separate DBs that are about 20m apart? Each with their own essential loads. Plan is to only use essential side so not concerned about ct/non-essential.

You can wire up to 100 DBs if you like. There's no limit. It's one input from the inverter and can be chained to a bunch of DBs.
 
Great, thanks! Looking at getting something small set up at the parent's place which has an outbuilding.
 
My SOC sitting at 97% but won't go higher even on grid charge (timer off).
And under LiBMS it's showing charge current limit as 0A.
This is a SS 8kw with 2x 5.32 SS batteries.
Is this normal or anything I need to change/restart or contact installer?

How long has it been doing this for?
If you drain it to 90% and then let it charge up, does it stop at 97% again?
I have had this on my shoto but it just went to a trickle charge state at say 95% and after long enough it got to 100%.
It didn't bother me cos it was high enough already

Ah ok cool. Then I think this is normal, just wanted to make sure.
It hit 100% at 3pm today and now around 94%. So yeah hasn't yet dropped much, will have a look later when below 90%.

I must add, produced 19.6kwh today from 4.4kwp and done with heavy loads and battery charging at 3pm. Only used 2.8kwh from grid for the early morning geyser top up. This feels great!
 
Something weird is happening at my place.


We have load shedding in Somerset West and everywhere is off in my neighbourhood yet my house is still getting grid power.

My batteries are in 20% and still pulling from the grid even though every house and street light is off.

Maybe someone in the neighborhood is back feeding - was your grid indicator light in the AC combiner box lit up? Deadly!

My thoughts as well but then other neighbours should also be able to use this.

My AC light on the inverter is on.
 
So the street light behind my property is on and my one opposite neighbour as well.

I think they moved my line to another grid that falls with the van der stel train station which is also still on.

Could be this. The train station is less than 100m away and then Vergelegen mediclinic is about 300m away but I would always go of with the rest of Somerset West.

OK battery below 90% now and all is fine
