All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

You will be surprised. I know ppl opting to go prepaid as their municipality are billing them estimates not wanting or willing to accept there meter readings and so not getting a return on investment.

They are also concerned for the future of what might happen if like me you are in Durban and are unable to register your system as there is no process to do so.

How difficult is it to connect a second Dyness battery to my Deye invertor?

I see the Dyness manual states you need a 500mm gap around the battery, I do not have that space to spare for a second battery, will putting it like 150mm apart be a issue?

Its as easy as pie :) just try ensure your cables are the same length to reduce workload on one battery over another

The gap is mainly to control airflow in warmer days - you can get away with less - they even allow stacking of batteries as well

But if connected in parallel would the same length rule apply to the length of the positive cable to battery 1 and the negative cable from battery 2?

Thats how I've had it done when i increased 1 to 2 and 2 to 3. I believe also that's how the manual displays it. It will still work if they are not the same it just means one of the 2 or 3 will work harder

Imposed.

They rocked up here today unannounced saying that they are here to disconnect me at the box in the street or I can put in the prepaid meter as they do not have access to the meter.

You should have told them you were emotionally attached to the meter and required at least 90 days to deal with the news. Furthermore, you've recently begun identifying as a meter yourself and removal of your beloved was an infringement of your rights of association

Sounds like they figured out you’ve been pushing back.

Well, hats off. Thank you for your contributions so far…

@AchmatK sorry to hear, I suspect the same action at my place as they have already sent someone to inspect my meter due to a reduced meter reading.

So long as the disconnection is at thier cost and I'll get my refund owed due to the past 6 months estimated readings after I have been submitting actual readings they are welcome to go ahead.

I stalled them for 3 years until they eventually did the same to me - threatened to cut me off at the box.

Ah well.

It's been 3 years almost to the day so it's been a good run. Funds just came through from selling one of my properties today so could dump some more cash into going fully off grid.

Add another two pylontech UP5000 batteries taking it to 34kWh in batteries and adding a dual fuel 5kw generator for topping up the batteries on cloudy days if SOC drops to under 20% and charge it to 30%.

That would be about another R75k
