All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

You can have either the Sunsynk dongle or the Solarman dongle, not both on the same inverter
Was under the misconception I could use the solarman app with the sunsynk dongle.
Thanks for the clarification.

Would making the change be worthwhile?

Nope, sunsynk app with sunsynk dongle.

I thought the same thing initially

Got solar assistant a week back and it integrates great with my sunsynk and revovs

For Solar Assistant users - if you enable the beta program in your setup on the web, you'll receive an update that allows you to back up your data - useful for if you need to transfer to a new device. Can't believe it hasn't been part of the system till now.

I'm in a back and forth with their support crew since I'm unable to access my system. Could be a faulty Pi, but with no screen and no other way of telling (no ssh etc.) I cannot tell. I am able to see it on the list of bluetooth devices right after a fresh image of the card, but I can't access it at 10.0.0.5 over bluetooth.

I'm going to hack the SSH so I can at least see logs.

Yup. I'm on the beta for that reason as my previous SD card kakked itself and I lost all the data.

I still need to figure out how to automate the backups and store them somewhere safe but for now I'm just manually backing up and saving the backups on cloud storage.

Do you know the wlan0 ip(local ip)? I had a previous issue where I couldn't access SolarAssistant via the internet but I was able to connect to it via the local ip.

This. I had set a static IP for my Solar Assistant (I think via ubiquiti) and something went wrong once. Couldn't see dat in HA, couldn't ping on the IP I knew it to be but when looking at ubnt, saw an IP I didn't recognise on the iOT LAN. It was the solar assistant.

Managed to recover after that.

That was the first thing I tried - I have been accessing it on local IP since install. I could ping the local IP but not access it - browser message was 'access denied'.
This most recent issue is a completely fresh installation after flashing the micro SD again. Step 1 is to power on and connect over bluetooth then access it on 10.0.0.5 - that fails with 'access is denied' which indicates a problem with the web service.

Anyone else having trouble with the Sunsynk app today / yesterday? My neighbour is unable to connect and I just thought I'd ask. I don't use it.

Stove and geyser were to be set as non-essential.
During load shedding (night, so only battery) I can turn on the geyser but not the stove.

I'm assuming one of them is not correctly set up?

Has anyone used these batteries(BSL Powerline-5) with their Sunsynk inverter? Solar supplier says the Sunsynk batteries have a 4 week lead time, but these batteries should be available sooner, so I'm weighing my options

Haven't had any personal experience with them, but they are one of the most reputable battery manufacturers around.

Sounds like geyser is not wired correctly if it is supposed to be non-essential

I keep getting logged out of the app for some reason. It works when I'm logged in though.
This is interesting. That might be the issue here too... I'll ask. Might happen when the app is updated. I've noticed that on iPhone especially.

Did they not maybe add an option to switch the gesyer between Grid and Inverter?

My installer did this for me so I could use the geyser on either if I wanted.
