It's a prepaid electricity meter.

The bottom meter is the electricity one.
COCT still gives you readings on prepaid:unsure: , that is pretty cool

Is SSEG registration in eThekwini compulsory?
Im assuming only if you want to feed back to the grid (legitimately)

which looking at all the Municipality and eskom direct regs and red tape is more trouble then its worth
 
I just want to check if I understand the time of use settings correctly.

Ours was set as follows by the installer:

So for each time slot the battery will be depleted until it reaches the percentage shown. Once it reaches that percentage or lower the inverter will start to use the grid to power the load. For the 17:00 - 19:00 slot the battery will be charged from the grid if it's below 90%. Is that correct?

In the worst case scenario where the battery is at 30% at 06:00 and load shedding hits (so no grid) I assume the battery will then deplete further until it reaches the 20% (I think that's it) shut off value.

That is correct. With the caveat that if there is solar during those day times then the battery will charge up anyways to as high as it can go

What is diffenre if grid charge is ticked or not?

I would change the 30 to 35% for in case there is load shedding and overcast weather to give some time for sun to start charging batteries and you don't deplete batteries

With grid charge ticked it should charge batteries from the grid. If it's not ticked the batteries won't be charged, just the load will be covered by grid.

That would be the ideal, but at this stage the batteries are actually depleted to 30% by 6AM. I'm working on having the load during the night reduced a bit.

The main goal for the system is to limit grid usage as far as possible. Once load shedding starts again we'll re-evaluate what setting needs to be.

Never used the Deye app, but apparently you have to register separately on each one. So if original account was on Solarman then you need to use that from what I've read.

Played a round a bit on the new Deye app, under sever settings select the eu server then everything should work and your historic data should be there too.

Just checked Deye app now (usually use Solarman business) and it's all good. You log on with the same credentials as Solarman.
 
Ah, so they might have fixed it during the data migration. I'm pretty happy with the Solarman Smart so will stick to that.
 
Has anyone managed to set up PVoutput with their Deye inverter and Homeassistance?

 
Oh fabulous... Now ALL my battery and timer setting are gone/defaulted... (ffs)
