All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

I have 10kwh capacity on my 2 batteries and when I get up in the morning some days it is on 50% charge left and my limit is set to 30% before Eskom kicks in though I have dropped the mains now as summer is coming. Is it best practice to drain the batteries down to 31% now and then or leave it and let it go back to 100% charge from solar?
You are safe to cycle them down to 20% frequently. Lower is fine but has a bit more degredation so not recommended as a daily thing.

The oposite is also true don't leave them full for weeks on end. Its not like lead acid that are best stored at 100% charge their storage charge is closer to 60%.

Then lastly its good to let the batteries and cells balance every couple of days by having them all full for a few hours before you start discharging.

If your system is well balanced it should all work pretty seamlessly.

Well they are pretty much full by 12pm these days and stay like that for the duration of the day before starting to drop at about 6pm.

So drop them to 30% once a week at most?

You can go down to 20% every day. Thats well within their optimal work range. Below 20% depends on how the battery was designed as to how much extra degradation it causes. Some also have the warantee conditions that you need to keep above 20% on average.

But now with minimal load shedding you can set the batteries usable range to 100%-20% with no I'll effect.

A solar company told me sunsynk is full of crap and strict with regards to repairs.
Deye on the other hand is more relaxed and they able to get approval to carry out replacements for faulty boards over the phone if they have the spares on hand.
Unfortunately I had already bought 2x sunsynk inverters as that was the only inverter Instock at the time.
With regards to your repair I am unsure...

What is everyone else's experience with warranty RMAs with Synsynk?
I booked it in online using their web UI on Thursday 13th Nov. It was collected on Tuesday 18th, so I imagine they've had it in their hands since at least the 20th. I plan to give them 2 weeks and call on Thursday / Friday this week.

not exactly , so previous SA warranty were run by Herholds (i think i spelt it correctly) they lost the licnce and Sunsyn took it over directly , and I guess they are more strict with installers and their paperwork, im guessing it depends on each installer , spoke to my installer h said he finds it easier now to deal with sunsynk direct f he had a few repairs / replacements recently and hey sorted him out quick

Sunsynk told me to contact my installer. My installer took my Sunsynk battery to Herholdts which did all the troubleshooting and replaced a faulty switch. I think it took 1-2 weeks if I recall correctly.

How long ago was that?
I spoke with an installer recently who said it’s all done via their website these days and I can do it “self service”. Not that I should, but it is possible.
I think it was around August this year. The installer bought it through Herholdts and he's a certified Sunsynk installer. He logged a ticket with Herholdts and took it to them here at their Bloemfontein branch. It's the kind of service that I expect from an installer. Before any of this happened, he did ask me to log a ticket with Sunsynk so that they could make sure that there's not a configuration issue. Sunsynk said everything is fine, updated my firmware and said if the issue persists, I should contact my installer.

I had to go to swap out my communication board it took me longer to drive there then for them to test my one and issue me a replacement board.

Im about 10km away from them
I wonder how long they would take with an inverter after the white smoke.

This is wierd, for a few minutes one of my PylonTech UP5000's reports temperatures in the mid 40 Deg C but the highest cell temperature is just below 30 Deg C...

I get the same now and then on the one UP5000 battery.

Battery two in the battery bank of 6 batteries.

If the temp was really that high then all of them would have similar temperatures so I think it's just the sensor on this one. Screenshot_20251216_164315_Chrome.jpgScreenshot_20251216_164327_Chrome.jpg
