I'm not home at the moment so can't take a pic, but that soc is the lowest it'll let the battery go if there is grid available. So you typically have that lower during the day and higher through the night. Mine is just at a straight 12% all the time.

Best part was only realizing there was a load-shedding slot *after* the fact. I sent the installer a thank you and was told to just uninstall the ESP app.
 
I have mine to set to 60% SoC night and day and if by 1pm the batteries are below 90% SoC, to charge them up to 90%.

I'll try to remember to post mine tonight. It would be good to list your goals though there are a number of different expectations people have.

Mine is mostly for loadshedding with some saving of eskom where I can.

Your battery is set to shut down at 20% so the sunsynk system screen at 50% is leaving 30% for loadshedding.

Personally I have all the grid boxes checked so the grid keeps it charged at my set level if solar is not keeping up for loadshedding but I only have the one battery.

Well do you want to save power (costs) or do you want to save batteries?

Mine is set to 25% (allowing a drop to 15% under load shedding) because I actually want to use the thing I paid for.

Your warranty on the Sunsynk as I recall says it should be 20% at the lowest which is probably why the Shutdown value is set to that.

Mine seldom drops below 50% - as other's have mentioned - its usually during loadshedding.

Lowest I've actually gone is 35% a few weeks back when we had stage 6 - two four hour slots following each other, with 2 hours in between.

I randomly use 2-5kw a day of Eskom electricity here and there - doesn't really botter me.

I don't want the grid to charge the batteries. There's enough sun in the day for charging and load.

If it were me I'd set the soc to what you need to get through a load shedding slot so you always have that available.

I don't get LS, so I let my battery run all the way down and then grid picks up the balance.

Think of the SOC/v like a minimum target while there is grid. When there is no grid that value doesn't do anything and the battery settings you shared get used.

So when there is grid if you have it set to 100% your inverter is not allowed to use the battery at all(it will blend PV and grid only).

If you have it set to 60% your inverter can use PV and battery until it reaches 60% after which it will only use PV and grid again.

If you have the grid box ticked and there is no sun your battery will be charged up to the 100% or 60% you set on the SOC/v
