Anyone else experiencing little to no data reporting in the SynSynk App and web portal today?

All reports are 0watts, but then it managed to send me the "disconnected" notification in the app when loadshedding started so it cannot be a connection issue, probably more like a server issue again.

Having the same issue. Plant last updated 2 hours ago.

I see the graphs are updating, but the data is 90min behind. At least I can see 1 1/2hrs after my domestic flatlines the batteries before the sun starts working its magic :-/
 
whats the difference between different solar panels

iv heard of some canadian panels

and also does the smaller 460w panels gather less power i assume than the bigger 540w

which is better to go with

Generally the higher wattage the better but this is also impacted by you inverter - higher watts means higher Amps and your inverter might not be able to handle. Higher wattage are also larger so your roof space might also impact which ones you end up with.

2 main types of panels - Mono and Poly. Monocrystalline solar cells are more efficient because they are cut from a single source of silicon. Polycrystalline solar cells are blended from multiple silicon sources and are slightly less efficient. But the more or less efficiency is a couple %

Edit: Also the tech is constantly improving - when i got mine 330s and low 400s were the order of the day - now mid to high 400s and low 500s are more common but you are also getting 600s. 300s re basically obsolete

The panels all have different voltages and amperages. Your inverter can only handle so much (depends on inverter). The critical one being the voltage. If you exceed your inverters max voltage you will fry the solar controller. If you go over the amperage it will just discard it so the extra you paid for the bigger panel is wasted.
 
Do I understand correctly - if your internet is down for whatever reason you can't monitor / control the inverter even on your local network?
Correct. It pushes to a cloud server and your app pulls from that server. No LAN direct link.
 
Quick question... Faults on the inverter, do they clear by them self if no longer present or will some of these never clear.

You can still change the settings from the inverter itself. You can also go with one of the custom logger/controllers and integrate with something like Home Assistant.

That's what I'm aiming for - I plan to install the inverter in the garage and, in addition to setting up various automations, I really don't want to traipse up and down to adjust things.

I do want to be able to remotely control and monitor the inverter irrespective of whether the internet is up.
