All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

They say you need to be at 100% for cell balancing with Hubble - but - how long do you need to be at 100%?
 
So as @Mike Hoxbig said, this means you will not use excess solar to power non-essentials. So it is no longer looking to see if you have anything running that it can power on the non-essential side.

I've submitted a request for Sunsynk to add this functionality - being a basic IF statement:

If EXCESS SOLAR then USE EXCESS SOLAR TO POWER NON-ESSENTIALS

They could do through the timer as well, but would be a really nice option to have.

Suggest you ask Sunsnyk for this as well, as hopefully the more people request this, the higher up the priority list it goes... or so I hope! :ROFL:

Fair point.

My was thinking was: if Load being fully covered by PV, check CT Coil draw and try draw more from Solar to feed "CT draw" ie. non-essentials.

The other option is to add an extra box on the timer page "Limit to Load" and you can then select when you want to feed non-essentials - my only issue with this is bad weather throws it out

It would be tricky for sure, but they could meet the demand with grid first and get the demand value from the coil, then supply whatever panels can produce up to the demand with the remainder coming from grid. I think the difficulty is that the battery is a buffer and it's easier to just push up to a maximum into the batteries from solar until the battery is full... doing the same with non-essential demand is not so easy since you are not pushing any excess back into the grid.. or trying not to... and if your demand is greater than the panels produce, you need that number before you suppliment with grid.

It's all hocus pocus until you understand the back end tech I guess... lots of short term storage (caps etc.) going on in there no doubt.
I wonder if they use supercaps...
 
1 July and electricity has gone up by 15.1%.

Problem is, if I enter the new municipal rate per KWH unit into my Sunsynk, then it applies that rate to all kwh produced since the system was installed and gives an inflated running total.

Is there anyway around this or do I now need to only rely on my spreadsheet which I have going alongside the app?
 
Jeez, so if these exist, why don't those massive farms or muni's use them? Must cost a crap ton though. I wonder if it will be cheaper with this sodium battery tech like what the seagull is supposed to use.

Currently lowest SoC is 40% , but yesterday total went down to 26% as there was a street outage for about 9 hours. I was running them 18-100 when I had one battery. 1st one installed in July 22 and the other in April 23

The new one is working reallly hard. As per pic, even when overall SoC was 26% , battery 1 never even reached it, battery 2 drained faster.

Don't know who to actually talk too to understand this behaviour. Wonder if Hubble techs will talk to guys on the street. View attachment 1547981

Had the exact same thoughts. Looks like spreadsheet until SunSynk (maybe) adds time-period based pricing option...

Weighted average of months on old vs current vs new pricing over time should do it. Adjust when pricing changes. Then weighted again for block tariffs and anticipated/average Eskom usage without/before solar.

Then adjusted again for prepaid (no fixed fees Citypower) vs post paid (lots of fixed fees).
 
I had a weird occurrence yesterday where my stats seemed to reset.
In and around 15h00 yesterday I was on roughly 15kWh produced, I was checking specifically for battery charge progress. Didn’t check for around 1.5 hours but when I opened the app there was 2.2kWh produced for the day, but other stats like load also seemed to have reset. The daily graph still looked good and the total generated in my HA card still showed the correct PV generated value, although other values seems to have followed Sunsynk.
The equipment tab on the app also seemed to still show the correct value.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Have not had your problem, but your 87 unread grid disconnect notifications are seriously upsetting my OCD tendencies....

I just ignore them since it is load shedding notifications. But just to assist with you having a better day, I’ve cleared it up (was 88 by then)

**** never ends - I see pigeons have taken a liking to nesting under the panels - anyone have a easy solution?
