All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

Yes, IIRC the function was specifically added to prevent sensitive meters from tripping out when there were small amounts of "accidental" feed back. In the vast number of cases it's not needed.
Set and no trips thus far, at least I do not have to see that pesky constant 20w draw anymore.

Does the manual have a cheat sheet?
Not really just has everything in it you need to know, consider a lot of members on here as your cheat sheet. I usually ask and get some great answers that the manual cannot really give you.

The whole manual is only like 30 pages (mostly pictures), and about 10 of them are relevant post install. It's really not a big ask to page through it and familiarise yourself with a pretty important piece of equipment. Don't be that guy...

Turned off my grid trickle yesterday (set to 0 now). So far no trips on my older school prepaid meter. Tired of seeing the .2kwh grid in my stats every day and don't want to keep turning my mains on and off based on weather.

Will see how it goes over the weekend.

How does one fix a "trip" on an old meter? Also, what does it look like? I have an old Siemens prepaid meter that's hardwired I think - wouldn't mind saving some more if I can...

Never had a trip. Hopefully it would reset itself after a certain amount of time. Plan B maybe call they council and they provide a reset code.

The new prepaid meters have separate "remotes" that you have to plug into a plug point to load credits. Mine is a 2nd generation all in one:

Yes and the time on inverter has been 1-2 hours ahead

I noticed my time on inverter appeared to be about 2hrs behind. Was wracking my brain trying to figure out if it had always been like that but I think not.

Mine was set to sync and was wildly off:

I've manually resynced and left the setting on. Strange because I've had no time-related issues even though everything down to the minutes was out. Is it a setting best left unchecked? Default install setting on mine.

Mine is set to sync. Date was 2 days ahead. Solar generation graph set back to zero as well

Looks like that Joel chap at SS HQ has borked things again like earlier this year. Back then I had time Sync on and it messed with the time and production stats. Since then I have left time sync unchecked.

Are BCM going to tell you to replace your prepaid meter with a smart meter soon? Eskom has just announced it to us and we have a year to comply.

So far it’s around R17k for engineer sign off (structural and electrical) and R9k for DGSL installation and then there’s Eskom’s fees. I just bit the bullet and I think I’m the first in my area to get it done. Fortunately they already replaced my smart meter. Apparently that’s another R8k “deposit” for the prepaid meter users.

Engineer is from EL and reckons BCM are adopting similar stuff to CoCT.
When my boet still owned a townhouse in Cambridge, BCM changed his Conlog to the new one which has the remote to enter the token voucher. I remember a letter going to all BCM ratepayers advising of this new meter rollout at that time.

I've been in my current home since 2018 and had no further contact. BCM is financially vrot, so I highly doubt they'll roll out anything now...

SS also down my side.
Time was way off once upon a time, broke stats permanently. Then set not to sync, still found time a few minutes off and adjusted it. But who knows, might have set it slightly off (in frustration) in the first place.
