All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

Woke up to a dead Deye 8kw inverter this morning.

The screen is off, and no lights on the front. Logger is also dead.

Tried to restart it by completely isolating it from power, then repowering and turning on. The screen flickered on for a bit, and it went dead again.

Also looked up my installer, seems they're also gone as many do..

Anyone know what the warranty claim process is like?

Rather frustrating as googling this it seems a few people have had the same problem with these inventers
Is it's registered just contact the Deye service centre ( if you in Joburg they in Kyalami) not sure with the full inverter but I had an issue which the WiFi module ( not the dongle but the actual board) I had to take it in they asked for inverter serial number confirmed under warranty tested the board and swapped it same time for a new one.
I assume a full inverter ,I guess testing and repair will be a lot longer

Cape Town.

It seems to be working as the batteries charge and get used. Seems it's just the screen/communication. (WiFi dongle is off, screen is off, communication with solar assistant is down)

Will give them a call tomorrow.

SunSynk servers down today? Haven't gotten an update for over and hour.

Edit: A minute after I posted this, I started getting updates again.

Edit 2 : It's down again.

Can panels of different wattage be connected to the same string?

Getting things in place to double the amount of panels I have but supplier only has 540w panels in stock instead of 455w I originally used. Physically the panels are of the same size so aesthetics aren't an issue.

Yes, buy they'll operate at the amperage of the lower rated panel, so you won't necessarily get full value from the new panels. If possible try to match the amp rating of the new panels to the old.

Alternatively, depending on your config, put the old panels on one string and the new ones on a seperate string/mppt

Thanks! Will discuss with the installer, may be able to combine the existing panels on one and do the new ones on a separate one

App uptime has been fairly consistent for a while but I'm having issues again. Anyone else?

Hi all. So what do "we" think of the new Sunsynk Connect Pro? The only thing I like is the graphics. It also seems to update much faster and refreshes automatically. But can't manage the inverter remotely? (I am worried it will be part of their subscription). If they remove the existing app I will be "upset" to say the least.

Haven't installed it. A friend told me about it over the weekend, and also said that it just has prettier graphics. I'm still happy to continue using the old app.

Haven't use the Sunsynk app in a long while since I have been using Solar assistant.

I recall Sunsynk building an integration for smart switches , so that for example if your grid goes, you can turn off other things. It was only Hue at the outset.

Has there been any updates on this? Can't seem to find anything in the app.

Hoping there is Tuya integration - would be lovely to be able to turn off geysers should grid loss being detected.

I need it now, cos I need to remove home assistant, which managed everything, from the equation and my geysers smart switches are Tuya based.

You have your Geysers on Essential - not Non essential or Aux/ Smart load?
