30 GB does sound good yes. But few can afford to pay R900+ and Telkom line rental of R400+. Only businesses and rich people. Thats more than half my budget!

Will DOTCO not have something aimed at normal folk? AYCE sounds good and I would even settle for 15GB with a 192kb ADSL line, if the price was within reach. At this rate less privileged folk will stay less privileged with no chance of bettering themselves with the unlimited resources of the internet.

Bloody dial-up is all I can afford.

Sorry, but no thanks, I'd rather buy something from a company I can actually trust, as opposed to a company that changes it's tune as and when it suits them.

Word of mouth is a powerful force, so I would bear that in mind before practicing what amounts to false advertising.

Allyoucaneat - NB - Uncapped is an absolute so just as you cant be almost pregnant or almost dead you either are or, as in your case, aren't capped.

Own up to the deceit and perhaps you'll regain some credibility.

In my opinion , the R480 is quite a good price for a 30GB Cap ... ... Yaaay !!! But why on earth should one be subjected to R980 bill when you get Unlimited bandwidth for way less than that ... Naaay !!!

.... if anyone's willing to pay R980 for a 30 GB account ... please consider those in need ... get one from another ISP for R720 and donate the remaining R260 towards my 2nd 3GB account ...

Ive been on here with nukecap before you guys even launched ur product, it has been part of my signature since then.

Unlimited means Uncapped, On demand means Allways available. I offer both of that, not at blazing lightning fast speeds but what I offer I provide.

Im in no competition here, I try and provide a service. Things like this just tick me off when yet another try to fake people into products thats not. R480 a month is a good price, Im not going to argue bout that and its also a better price than Nukecap. Allthough, do you expect to grab the whole market at R480 / month introductory price cause then it would be a great price. Sadly, its R980 / month normal price and most people will not sign up first month, R980 a month kind of changed the viability of this. Is this what you wanted to hear? Well now lets get back on the 30gig cap discussion.

It comes down to something else, just please offer what you preach.

I understand ... but not all of us have small stomachs ... .. besides the first time they came in here they never revealed that fact instead they added a very dodgy contract on top of the menu in an attempt to trap as many poor souls as they could.

I have a 9Gb account with Mweb at R 739.00 per month at my company that I work for.
When my ADSL line is installed at home I am going to get myself a AYCE account.
It's nothing to pay R980.00 per month for 30Gb's (That's if they keep it at that!).

Remember, when an ISP starts to cut there prices, it also cuts there profits making them
more venerable to closing down and then we all sit with nothing!!!!

30Gb @ R 980.00 is a BARGIN!
Look at what all the other ISP's are charging first before you bitch about there price!!!!

Anybody offering 'uncapped' access will not be around long.

m0zy - If you didnt notice, we are not fighting the fact that there is a cap. We are fighting the fact of false advertising.

If they offered a 30gig capped product at first, they would not have this issue now and the product would have looked sexy from the start.

The only reason I can see, for not advertising the 30gig Cap is to counter uunet offerings of R730 odd per month for NO CAP. Instantly this offering looked more appealing at R480 / month (for first come users).

They took a gap in marketing, and its wrong!

m0zy, there is a difference between uncapped and a 30GB Cap. Once is 'capless' and one limits the amount of data you can send through in 1 month.

Yes it is a really good deal to get 30GB for R980/month but that was not their origanal statement. When it first came out they advertised as 'uncapped' and that is the issue lies at the moment.

exactly, why would you want to sign a 12 month contract if the company already showed you how devious they can be. It's even IN the contract that they can change at anytime and still be legally able to take your money.

The only one being cheap here is you .... if you understood what the the forum stands for you would'nt make such uncalculated remarks. Bandwidth cost money? I agree but funny enough we seem to be paying way more than other countries for a CHEAP service, as far as I know there is no such thing as blue, green, yellow bandwidth so why the hefty price for the same bandwidth?

If I am reading between the correct lines here, the natural assumption one is left to one's own devices to make, is that AYCE's bandwidth supplier (presumably SAIX/Telkomonopoly) summarily changed the terms & conditions that AYCE had with them...? Whether true or untrue, someone mentioned that AYCE should not have advertised uncapped/unlimited/AllTheGBzYouCanChow without first getting things finalised with their bandwidth supplier. So, I conclude that changing from uncapped/unlimited/blah to 30GB is actually false advertising - just my opinion.

If it is true that the bandwidth supplier changed things & imposed a 30GB limit then that's AYCE's problem - they should have ensured that they had an iron-clad contract for unlimited/uncapped with the bandwidth supplier before advertising unlimited/uncapped.

All the more reason for ensuring that proper contracts, SLAz & Terms & Conditions are in place.

ic, there's a press release on the main site confirming SAIX is their bandwidth supplier, and that all AYCE is doing is to string 3gig accounts together into one account, meaning, you can download as much as you like without the hassle of logging on with different accounts when you hit your cap.

Aparently Johan, their MD, sucked $iwe off for the privilage of having such a service... must leave a bitter taste huh...

They took a risk advertising like they did, and then the Powers That Be, slap them on the wrists!!

I dont think anyone slapped them, they had a cap in place from the start and just didnt notify anyone. I am saying this, as allyoucaneat didnt once try and explain the capping with Telkom being the bitches.
