Amber accuses us for not doing our research and ranting and raving? Well, if we all kept to ourselves no one (not me) wouldn't know that there's any problem! Neither would we find ways and share information on how to bring this to an end.
If it's true that we're all b1tching and moaning and we're SO uneducated and short sighted, why do I have my account re-activated? Why has everyone who had their account suspended suddenly have access again, and those forced to buy bandwidth now in credit?
Because the so-called bandwidth hogs only used a service that was provided to them. I used an analogy of your parents in one of my earlier posts, which said something along the lines of, your parents expecting you to grow up all by yourself... let me expand on this with a less crummy analogy
Company A advertises a service. They have limited resources and need to turn a profit. If the resources aren't kept in tact with failsafe's and constantly monitored, soon the resource would become more and more expensive, driving down their profits and raising panic stations.
WBS's resource is bandwidth. They were unable to cap users efficiently (or at all in some cases) and took almost a month to rectify this (I'm capped and am enjoying my 64k as I type this)
This meant that a capped user could very well download as fast as an uncapped user and "hog" the bandwidth. WBS made the mistake yesterday of suspending accounts and "putting them all in the same basket", labelling them "bandwidth hogs". Once again, the consumer gets blamed for the company's inability to provide the service they said they will, and keep an eye on their resources.
WBS was warned several months ago by users ON THIS FORUM to test their bandwidth monitoring system. They ignored us. We spoke (I personally and several others) to Shaun about this, and it was said that 2 weeks before the official launch, that everything will be put in place to test properly.
Again, I fail to see how WBS's inability to test their systems before launch, was suddenly MY (and others fault). They screwed up, yet, the blame us? Should we suddenly stop using a service and monitor ourselves? Be extorted of money just to be re-activated when you were surely in your rights to use the service as intended?
I would agree to the extent that those who downloaded excessively did had it coming to them, but again, I would raise the point that why should users be penalized and labelled by a company for THEIR screw up and inability to run THEIR company and systems?
This is why we "b1tched and moaned". And again, I would like you to point you to other threads you supposedly read. Several users reported they shared their username with 10 others, just because WBS created them without checking if the username exists. This caused incorrect bandwidth reporting... again, a fckup from WBS's side blamed on the users...
So please, in future (if you do do your research and read these threads) and you have the urge to comment about something you obviously know nothing about (my apparent idiocy and the general state on forumites and who posts where and what we speak about) I suggest you keep it to yourself. You obviously do not possess the power of mind to comprehend, what I would like to call, the bigger picture.
Someone as selfish and closed minded as yourself reminds me of Jay in "Jay and Silent Bob strikes back" when he exclaimed "what the FCK is the internet?!"
This shows me you do posess some kind of reasoning in that brain of yours, which I suggest you TRY and use sometime before going off into your own little world.
