Amazon Web Services Cape Town region goes live

Amazon Web Services (AWS) went live with its Cape Town region on 22 April 2020, according to MyBroadband readers who use the cloud computing platform.

As of this morning, AWS administrators could enable the Cape Town region for their account through the AWS portal.

The region is named “Africa (Cape Town)” with the label “af-south-1”.

That's probably because the launch ain't official yet, since there is nothing on their website about it..

It may come with time.. Rarely, if ever, are all services available at region in launch..

Yeah man, been waiting too long for this. PUBG is an awesome game but the lag just brings it down so much.

I think we have to make a noise about it otherwise the devs wont know we want it.

I read that Pubg runs on AWS and Azure, we have azure so why havent we got servers yet?

The only region with all services is IAD (North Virginia), Ireland is a close second. SA will have the core services like VPC, EC2, S3, and ACM among others starting out and expand from there.
