An Arial on Telehone Pole

Hi would just like to check if this is normal... I have a 4mb adsl line, the other day i took a walk down on our road and noticed that there is an aerial, wich looks like some radio antenna mounted at the top of the Telkom telephone pole right, the line runs in the backyard of the properties so this would have never been noticed, this seems to be the main pole as it has a box on it, and quite a few lines running from it. Im concerned because this is the same pole my line runs from.

Is this normal, will it not cause inteference with the adsl line?

Ok, not too knowledgeble on this stuff, but i thought wimax was for customers who cant get dsl? and we live in a suburb where the exchange is 1.5km away? why would they bother with WImax there? then again the antenna also looks like a makeshift tv aerial

I have seen a few people use the local telkom pole for a few thing CCTV cameras ,mount TV antennae , mount lights . and radio antennae
