ANC or nothing

I've often heard how stupid black people are for voting for corrupt ANC, which is correct...there are a lot of corrupt ANC officials, really no different from past government but at least one could argue that service delivery was good back in the days well at least for white folks.

As an ANC supporter I am also fed up of the corruption and poor service delivery, but the only reason why I still vote for ANC regardless of corruption reports we hear on the news every day is because we have no alternative party in SA which will serve all regardless of race.

Please don't tell me DA or COPE= ANC

You see it all over Africa, no matter how bad a government is the people do not stand against them. SA is about 10 years away from Zimbabwe or some other messed up country i reckon. The world cup is the only thing holding this country together right now.

You know it is bad when poor blacks say it was better under the white government.

For the record, the DA is as non-racial as it gets in this place. However, there are many other parties which are just as pro-service delivery and believe in serving the people (since the people you elect are ultimately public servants) and not ruling over them or sucking their wallets dry, such as the Independent Democrats (Patricia de Lille has a funny view about the way the world works though, so I don't support them).

Anyway, regarding the OP, it's not just "blacks" who vote for the ANC. Poor people who believe that the ANC is still "fighting the struggle" vote for them because they're blind, uneducated and ignorant, and the ANC likes its supporters like that.

Yeah right, did you see on the news how DA built people toilets on the streets with no covering shelter, just goes to show how much DA thinks of black people. Apathy is the mother of invention, similarly, apathy (by the lack of significant action against it) permits the very police force which is meant to protect you and other citizens, to become corrupt. The police force is the one area which the government should be focussing on improving. Clean out the trash, give those who remain better pay and reward them when they do a good job--let being a policeman be a matter of pride and prestige again and let it be an incentive to others to join the force.

Apathy and the fact that every current ANC official is solely out for themselves and not the people, always only doing "good enough" in the communities who keep voting them in, making the same bull**** promises over and over again is why crime runs rampant.

Inaction, standing by while a crime is committed, turning around and walking away, is the same as permitting that crime to happen.

The ANC is in control of this country, and thus also the police service. If the police don't have money to do their jobs, and are trained poorly, it is purely because either the ANC is not supplying the money, or are spending the money on the wrong things. That also goes for every other service government is paid (taxes) to do (education, water, etc).

I'm not going to touch the UFS fiasco with a ten foot pole.
