It still does if you use it heavily. If you play 3d games it's a lot less than that.
 
There is no such thing as a Google S4. There is a Samsung S4 Google Play Edition, yes, but in terms of a Google phone it is only Nexus (or Galaxy Nexus).

No, I was implying that the tab drains quickly in standby. Two\Three days (in standby) and the thing would be dead...

I've never had mine on for more than a day without charging, on 4.1, 4.2.2 or 4.3 apart from testing it. Start off with 100% in the morning and it's down to around 45% by bed time. Halfway through the next day and it would die. Less during heavy use. This is with the 3G connection/wifi and GPS permanently on though, could probably extend the battery life significantly by turning off 3G.

I had 3G\wifi\GPS off and still drained like crazy, no major apps either. I'm not a heavy user at all so what I do now is turn it off, charge now lasts for weeks, sometimes months. I'd rather suffer this than charging every three days (after very light usage).

Well duh, obviously turning it off makes a huge difference. That's not really standby time though... Not at all actually.

what exactly do you want to do? What is your current firmware? Do you want to load Custom firmware?

would like to upgrade the firmware to the latest stable version that will work on the SGS2, sort of spruce it up a bit, at present it's got Android 4.0.3

baseband version = i9100xxlpr

kernel = 3.0.15-i9100xwlp3-cl287862

build number = iml74k.xwlp3

just need to know where to get the right firmware and how to load it?

Have you perhaps read through the official Samsung Galaxy S2 thread available over HERE ? There's all related discussions on customizing that phone over there. :)
