Hey guys,

Just confirming that the newly released UK Android 5 works on my Note 3 that is on Vodacom.

Here is everything you need. :)

http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/43185/N9005XXUGBOA5_N9005VFGGBOA2_VOD.zip/

Just download Odin, the firmware, extract and install.

I can also confirm that this installation process kept all my apps and settings.

For your convenience, here is the firmware:

And here is Odin:

https://mega.co.nz/#!UdRRyCAT!H4FyVxYynNWvXqRNmnpMGQRCP-dG3uykgP2pT4rh8Ek

Instructions
  • Extract (unzip) the firmware file
  • Download Odin v3.09
  • Extract Odin zip-file
  • Open Odin v3.09
  • Reboot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
  • Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
  • Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
  • Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
  • Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minutes

Great, the Note 4 will probably get it sometime in 2017.

I have a GS4, not a Note 3, but I guess the question is valid nonetheless (for Note 3 owners with CM). The official Lollipop for the GS4 has just been released in some other countries. If I'm currently running a custom recovery with CM, can I still use Odin to flash the official firmware like one would normally do?

Good to know, your mega link for the Firmware takes me to the odin download. Sammobile keeps keeps dying on me.

Don't be such a pessimist!

Everybody knows the Lollipop update has been delayed because it doesn't work properly with Samsung's VR Headset......

I'm sure it will be fixed soon and then released.

Who cares? Just release it already, they can add support for the stupid VR gimmick later via a patch.

First of all guys, sorry I messed up that link, in my excitement I must have failed to paste the correct link to the firmware, I'll fix it next time I go to a pc. Nonetheless, the sammobile link is perfect and has the correct firmware link.

Regarding other ROMs for Notes, I think other Note owners will concur, I'm a little hesitant to try anything not too Samsung because of the lack of stylus functionality.

I got the Poland 5.0 firmware and installed using Odin straight over the leaked 5.0 with no problems or special tricks needed.

Loving 5.0 on the Note3. Very fast and stable so far. Now to wait for Xposed to become available.

My phone just crashed during the Odin upgrade. I was upgrading to the UK 5.0, and it stopped half way. Now all i get is "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again"

Any advice?

Have you tried another version? The poland version works

It wouldn't work at first. I eventually put the leaked version back on by individually selecting the Pit, BL, AP, CP, and CSC files and a re-partition, before it would do anything.

Ok now with the Poland version.

I have the Note 3 LTE on vodacom and struggling to get the uk stock rom 4.4.2 or lollipop. Should the csc be exactly the same for the uk rom to work?
