Android 5 (Lollipop) - Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Loving lollipop on my Note, not sure if it's placebo or not but it feels a lot smoother.

Great, the Note 4 will probably get it sometime in 2017.

Don't be such a pessimist!

Everybody knows the Lollipop update has been delayed because it doesn't work properly with Samsung's VR Headset......

I'm sure it will be fixed soon and then released.

I am running 5.0.1 German ROM from Sammobile on my SM-N910F with no problems so far.

Does anyone know when the official OTA for the n9005 note 3 (vodacom) be released. It is already released overseas about two months ago.

Good luck with that just flash the UK official rom like the other people and my self have done

Lollipop (Android 5.0.1) has been officially released for the Note 4. I got a prompt from Kies software when I was doing a back-up last week.

Only problem is that I don't think Vodacom are ready for it - my phone drops connection and needs to be restarted to get the 4g signal again - appears to happen when I move into/out of 4G / wi-fi areas.

I have reported this to Vodacom but no reply yet. I had a similar problem with my Note 2 in 2013 - took Vodacom some time to resolve it.

A pity the service providers cannot keep up with the software.

Any support from Vodacom on tis forum would be appreciated.

Anyone has the VOD UK firmware on a local server. I'm having issues downloading it I get to 90% and it bombs out. Quite a big file as well at 1.3Gb.

+1 on Note 3 N9005, MTN. I've used the 20 January Poland ROM.

I notice that there are quite a few countries that have Lollipop for the N900, yet all the carriers in SA are shining in their absence.
Is there a safe (stock) version that I could use?

I'm beginning to think that Samsung are deliberately stalling the release of Lollipop. Perhaps, they are worried that if Lollipop was released too early for the note 3, then people wouldn't really have a reason to go out and buy the note 4 which includes Lollipop.

So, the longer they stall the release, the more Note 4 handsets will get sold. Apart from Lollipop, there is not too much that the Note 4 has going for it that the Note 3 doesn't already have.

I've been using the Poland ROM for about three months now, but I'm considering rolling back to Kitkat.

The relaxed SD permissions and better stylus and window functionality are great, but I still have some issues. I did a factory reset after loading the ROM but I'm still struggling with some battery loss, and TouchWiz and email crashing from time to time. I also have some paid games I bought from the Samsung app store which haven't been updated to run on Lollipop.

So it seems there's an update for Vodacom customers, just got a notification when I chose to 'check for software updates'
