Android 5 (Lollipop) - Samsung Galaxy Note 3

So it seems there's an update for Vodacom customers, just got a notification when I chose to 'check for software updates'

Nope. I have two Samsung Note 3 LTE N9005 Vodacom phones.

I have just done a software update check. Nope, my Android 4.4.2 KitKat is still the latest :(

On a side note, does anyone know the services codes for lollipop. It seems they have all been changed because the jellybean codes no longer work.

Mine too, no update on phone and kies3

^ Not sure how you got that, but nothing on my side...

Which version of Note 3 is yours ? LTE or non-LTE ? I think the models are N9005 and N9000. Where did you purchase your Note 3 ? through one of the networks in a contract.....or did you buy it directly from the Samsung Store, cash ? or did you by it overseas on a trip ?

One of my Samsung TAB S tablets recently had a Lollipop upgrade, but it was one I bought for cash directly from a Samsung Store.

LTE model 9500 from Vodacom on contract under 2 years old

Same, on my SM-N900.

If it uses extra ram, is it really worth it ?
It can't be more RAM if it's over 900mb , probably more storage space used for the lollipop install?

Anyone running a more recent 5.0 ROM than the latest Poland XEO ROM for N9005 from sammobile.com? That one has a build date of 25 February 2015, but some of the ROMs for other countries have more recent build dates. I'm just not sure if they'll work on mine. I'm on MTN.

I rolled back to Kitkat but I need Lollipop again for some testing. #experimenting. In general Lollipop has better UX, but I rolled back due to some battery issues.

I don't think the build date will make much differece if they are all 5.0, that's just when the network operators compile them with all their bloatware?

They may have a newer modem/baseband but you can get the latest versions of those from Xda on their own and flash them no matter the firmware version you have, even if you are on kitkat.

Ah ok. I was hoping there would be a few more bug fixes (TouchWiz & email crashing from time to time). I've in the meantime restored the Nordic countries ROM (built 17 June), but it probably won't make a difference.

Anyway, thanks for the reply.
