Android 9 does not support call recording

Are you guys testing with speaker phone or earpiece? Would also be interesting to know if it work via bt headset /headphones

It records outgoing calls fine. A lot of background noise though. But, incoming it only records your voice and not the person calling you. Here the audio is perfect, but again only your voice is recorded.
Should work with speaker phone then at least right?

I have tested with the handset on the Note 9, as well as with headphones, for the Note 9 the result is the same. It does not record incoming calls.

If you only hear yourself then I guess it's only recoding your mic. If on speakerphone it should be able to record both your and the other person's voice via your mic.

So maybe that's a workaround for some

Okay, if I use the phone recording (software) option, I am unable to record incoming calls. I can, however, change the setting to speaker. But, when I then receive a call, the Note 9 automatically puts the call on speaker and then call gets recorded. So, this will not really work, especially if you do not want others listening into the call.

Yeah, or your alternative will be to call back everyone you wish to record. Then the calls will be recorded. Unfortunately not when receiving a call on the Note 9.

This is at least a bit of progress, because last week when we tested the app it did not record incoming our outgoing on a Note 9.

All that I can confirm, as far as the Note 9 goes, there is no longer a working call recorder. The few that are able to do limited recordings will only record outgoing calls. The voice on the other end are extremely soft or mostly muted. Incoming calls are not recorded other than your own voice.

Is Android Pie, all its features and security updates worth losing call recording? No. If you dont have to update ti Pie, dont do it. There are millions of Android users on huge Android forums who indicated they will not upgrade to Pie.

Heck, I'm on Pie on the Nokia Sirocco, and "Call Recorder" still works just fine:

It has a new popup saying that call recording will only work on Pie if the external speaker is enabled, but that's not true. It records both sides of normal calls just like it did back on Android 8.

Maybe it's a permissions thing, that it still works if you had it installed before the Pie update, but won't work on fresh installs? If that's the case, people can still update to Pie, just don't buy a new phone with it :D

I can still record incoming and outgoing, Nokia 8.

Has anyone using a Samsung on Pie, changed CSC.the call recording block is only applicable to certain regions.

I installed Cube ACR and it's recording incoming calls not played over the external speaker.

Galaxy S9+ running android pie. I've never used any call recording app before this one. Sound for the incoming call is slightly softer but audible.

Maybe I was doing it wrong but neither Call Recorder ACR or Cube ACR worked on my S8, I could hear myself perfectly but nothing on the other end.

First off, will this affect things like the FNB App? I suppose it will. With me having to confirm transactions / payments on the App, this is not even remotely an option. Best, as most websites already recommend, if you rely on call recording, give Pie a skip.
