Android 9 does not support call recording

I installed Cube ACR and it's recording incoming calls not played over the external speaker.

Galaxy S9+ running android pie. I've never used any call recording app before this one. Sound for the incoming call is slightly softer but audible.

This is the problem with most of the apps. You have to be in an extremely quiet place when the call comes in and you want to record it. In any busy place, the sound is cannot be heard on the recording. This is unfortunately the problem Pie caused for these phones. It went and made a decent Samsung Note 9 device totally useless when it comes to business. I will definitely not be buying any Samsung device running on Pie again.

First off, will this affect things like the FNB App? I suppose it will. With me having to confirm transactions / payments on the App, this is not even remotely an option. Best, as most websites already recommend, if you rely on call recording, give Pie a skip.
Changing csc should not affect the FNB app. Only rooting the device would affect it.

I had a P20 Pro on Orio with ACR installed, no issues.

Updated to Pie and ACR still works, both outgoing and incoming. However, Google are also doing away with Call Log permissions, so you can no longer choose to only record calls from contacts or non-contacts, nor will the recording be saved with the phone number. You have to add/edit that yourself now!

Seriously Google?!

No it won't. Your FNB app will run just fine.

Not really. You can hide root with magisk on app level. FNB app still works.

Yep, Google f**ed up real bad by removing this feature.

Okay, so from my understanding, I can change the CSC without rooting the device. But, how does one go about doing this? Should I not have a sim of the country I want to change to, or enter some USSD code of the carrier? Lastly, in which countries are this still supported?

Australia and India started reporting being blocked too with new updates.

At the end of the day, looking at some comments abroad, it seems changing CSC is not working for everybody.

Are there any devices on the market that specifically has a call recording feature that is not dependent on Android OS? If there are, it will probably be a better option to just dump Samsung devices, or any other device for these.

Xiaomi. As I said earlier, my Mi Max 3 is on Pie and built in call recording in Miui is still working perfectly

Thanks. I will buy myself one and play around with it. Probably replace my note 9 with it then.

Just out of interest, I do not use the app, but is Truecaller still working on Pie? I heard some complaints that many features no longer work.

I am on Android 9 and have no problem with my call recorder. Works perfectly.

Anyone tried the app SKVALEX in the Playstore? Seems to be working on my Note 9 for incoming and outgoing.

Edit - nevermind. Doing the same crap. Incoming calls voice on the other end is so soft, you cannot hear anything at all.

Best is just to move to another phone and drop all future Samsung devices or any other that does not have native call recording enabled.

have you tried the cube app?

With Call Recorder - ACR
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nll.acr , you can change the audio source under Settings/Recording also to test if recording will improve/work.

I do have the paid version and tested the various settings on the Note 9. None are working. I read somewhere on ACR's website that they too confirmed that their app will no longer work on most devices when upgraded to Pie. They too recommend that if you need to make use of their app that you never upgrade to Pie.

Thank you for confirming. Not good at all.
