Android beats Apple, every time

Everything Apple is way over rated. Its just nice looking and fashionable. Like fashion apple will soon be out of date.

Restrictive
...fashion magazines that show a little too much flesh...
...Apple also has a habit of banning games that it deems "unsavoury" or applications that are not family friendly...

To me it sounds like someone is upset that they can't get their porn fix from an iPad.

Also, "every time" is the claim, yet only 1 point (masked as 2 individual points - who is the author trying to fool??), is mentioned: Restriction and freedom.

I don't care if you're pro or anti Apple or Android. The fact remains the article was poorly written and pretty much a rant.

Wow, the Apple fanbois are out in force here today! :p

Android Rocks! I just downloaded it for my x86 PC... gonna install it and let the kids play with it on an old PC.

That's brilliant. I'd love to try that out.

Is this a flame-war attempt? your opinion is not news, sorry... this is a biased blog post, please label appropriately.

hey i also wanna do that. Post some links on how
Looks quite tough - http://www.android-x86.org/ Need some Linux know how and sort out drivers etc. meh.

Anyway, back on topic. The article was pretty short on substance. Who cares if Apple is closed and Android is open? I sure don't. In fact the closed model has been a huge success for Apple and iOS developers, as compared to Android and the Android Market.

I find it interesting that Apple Fanboys and girls would rather dismiss opposition to their products than engage in any kind of debate, apparently Apple is just the best to these people and everything else is ignored. It's the exact mentality that the company demonstrates, it actually makes me happy that Microsoft beat Apple in the OS wars (and I hate Microsoft). If Apple dominated the PC environment today I can only imagine how restrictive our lives would be.
Android's openess is it's strength and as it develops it's quite clear that it is always going to beat Apple - there are tonnes of developers from many different companies and any individual is able to work with the source code if they have the knowhow.

Bla Bla Bla - If you can't afford an Apple device, there is no need to undermine Apple, to make yourself feel better about not having one

You do not have to justify your lack of an iPad by talking bull. Stop wasting bandwidth, shut the heck up and go hug your Android device

Interesting assumption that because you pay more for it, it must be better.

Exactly. For the price of an ipad you can get a pretty decent gaming lappie, which can pretty much do everything the i pad can do and more. Apple is way overpriced. Id rather go with a device that can do it all.

I've used this cheap 2 for one Android phone for almost 2 years and

Now that Verizon is getting the iPhone I am switching ASAP. The latest software is never available for my phone, the APP store is lousy (So much for open standards) and the UI isn't intuitive.

My son bought an iPhone and it's polished easy to use and always gets the latest software upgrade.

Androids are a joke.

The Android OS impresses. I have yet to see a Droid phone that I like more, design wise, feel wise, quality finish wise that I'd pick over my 3GS. That said, I'm getting a berry next.

/takes cover

I'm going for a blackberry for my next phone. Andriod and iPhone are just far to expensive and gimmicky. All I want is a phone that can browse the internet when the power goes out. (Oh and the free messaging to other blackberries is awesome.)

I find it interesting that you think that. I don't "dismiss opposition", I have checked out all the WebOS, Android and windows mobile devices.

Apple deserved to get beaten in the PC wars, they didn't have a clue after Steve left.

for a device that you can bring into a development environment to control specialized equipment from anywhere in a building (e.g. service managers at companies) it is a great idea but i don't think it could beat the ease of use and quality you would get from an IPad

you didn't take into consideration the virus attacks on the android OS as well
we have already heard of android and virus attacks and nothing on apple yet.

so it comes down to same argument as windows and apple. if you want a device that will work and still be working in 2-5 years get an apple. but if you want to get a device that will do anything you want and get attacked by hackers and viruses get an android and fork out an extra R300 a year for anti-virus

i agree that development for apple is too strict

read this about attacks on android http://www.news24.com/SciTech/News/Virus-attacks-Android-phones-20101231

Hehehe... I love the figure of R300, wonder if it applies to AVG Free? ;-)

i agree with the article, wholeheartedly.
in fact, im glad it is mentioned (even if it has been mentioned before)

What the Apple haters always fail to see is that Apple is an innovator, whereas the rest of these "players" are just copycats.

Android wouldn't exist if it hadn't been for Apple's invention of the iPhone.
