Android beats Apple, every time

Apps - Everyone knows the Apple store has a bigger variety of apps for it, and a lot of them are very high quality. im sure there are a lot of apps the android store doesn't have (medical & aviation tracking apps, for example)

Memory size - yes the galaxy has a slot but you will need to BUY it for an EXTRA cost, the iPad has 64GB built-in, for cheaper.

Screen size - yes, sure there are bigger ones, but then the price gets more too. I was comparing the R7800 Galaxy Tab to the iPad.
(If I was comparing the VW Golf to the Honda civic, it's pointless telling me Honda has an S2000 with a better engine) :D

Gaming - Most people would agree that if you wanna game on it, the iPad is the obvious choice. plus the fact that it has a bigger screen for that, too. :o

Battery and UI you agree. :whistle:



Build quality I guess can be seen as "subjective to personal opinion or speculation" though. :p

iPad has got more apps, and they're better quality, you do your research. There are hardly any Android apps optimized for tablet.

how do you know they are better quality? have you used all of them? (or are you just saying the iZombie equivalent of "brains!!!!")
 
there are several special apple apps 'optimized' for the ipad or retina display while android apps do not have such special versions - this is because an android app already has to work on several different hardware configurations, software versions and chipsets (not all of them work on everything*)

The reason there is not an optimized version of an app is because the normal version is already designed to be run on a device with a higher resolution.

*several apps are unavailable on version 1.x devices and some hardware configurations may have unique dependencies not catered for(nonstandard resolution, etc.)

You get an image that optimised for the device and it saves you space - whats wrong with that? The originals are left untouched. :confused:

The Android marketplace is a complete mess compared to the App Store, use both for 5 minutes and it will be clear to you. It's full of junk applications and rip-offs of hit apps, piracy apps etc. There's no "top charts", no recommendations. The apps themselves - I don't think I've ever seen an Android app that was better designed than the corresponding iOS app. The standards are just much higher.

The iPad downsizes photos to 2304x1536 when you sync with iTunes - that's still pretty darn high resolution!

Okay so you like a pretty store and you are spoilt by it, but do we really need more then ratings? before the "stores" on java and WinMo we had to search for apps with Google, nice thing about the Android market is its just like that time, Jobs Almighty doesn't have to approve of the app you want before you can get it, the iDos app comes to mind... so much potential....

has there ever been a port that is better then the original? PC games know this all to well, how about some original Android apps?

What I find amusing is people declaring you can't do something or other when you can. :)

When you downsize maps from around 8500x11000 resolution on the phone, they become useless.
I like to be able to copy any files I want to my phone, like you can with a USB flash drive.
That way I always have them with me.

I'm not interested in an ipad, played with one for 20 minutes but its all bling and no substance.

No, of course I don't use all 100000 apps. But I think the iPhone is just much more geared towards apps than Android is.

Do you actually download maps at 8500x11000 onto your phone and browse them? I'd imagine the performance would suck. Heck I think even my Core 2 Duo with 4gb RAM would struggle with such a large image! Why not just use the maps app?

It's not so much about what they do than it is the way they do it. Both phones do pretty much the same thing, I just think Apple have thought about their software and tried to make it as simple as humanly possible, an approach which Android doesn't share. Whatever you prefer - that's your preference!

Still to this day I cannot maximize windows in OS X. It gives me stomach ulcers.
