Android in for a tough time - analysts

So the verdict going Apple's way does not mean they have won the court case ? I do indeed have little understanding of legal matters, but anybody with a little common sense already knows that Samsung aren't just going to roll over and just surrender.

Which was why I made the original point that this article is premature. :D

Android in for a tough time? Any fool can be an "analyst" these days.

Samsung isn't Android. Android is an open OS now even used by Nikon on its cameras. Android flavours like MIUI and others cannot in any way be tied to what Samsung is "copying". And Google will look after Android and do what has to be done. Google also innovates and Apple will need their innovations at some point in some way also. These "analysts" get their wires crossed.

Well said.

Now Samsung Is Ripping Off Apple’s OS X Dock For Their Windows 8 Machines Read more a

Apple Fanbois now whining that Samsung is copying the OS X Dock Feature.... :D

Samsung just doesn’t get it. They just got brutally dominated in the Apple vs Samsung trial for copying a ton of Apple UI elements, so what do they do? Go out and copy OS X for their Windows 8 machines.

Samsung has a cool new feature for Windows 8 called the “S Launcher” that looks and functions just like the Dock in OS X. They copied it so well, it even has a 3D semi-opaque tray that reflects the icons contained therein.

Describing the functionality of the dock, Yahoo! states you can “simply drag apps or files to it for easy access, tossing them off when you don’t want them anymore. Nothing groundbreaking in that, but it doesn’t hurt, either, and the icons are bigger than in the Windows taskbar.” You know, just like in OS X.

Stealing an idea like the dock is fine. Great companies steal, but they transform the idea into something that is their own. Microsoft’s Start Menu was inspired by the NeXT dock and Apple Menu System, but they made it look and function completely different.

Samsung’s designers have no taste, or ability to come up with an original idea that was inspired by others without just completely ripping it off. So until they fire all of their crappy designers who are content to create carbon copy Apple products and UI elements, Apple and Samsung are probably going to be locked into battle for years to come.

Cult of Mac? lol... that tells you exactly what most of the guys are going to be like! :D

Do a bit of research on the dock. Apple were the first manufacturers by virtue of the original OS being a descendent of NEXTSTEP

Please tell me you are not trying to be serious here?
Docks have been around for years, and have pretty much fallen into common use across all operating systems.
And anyway, those two docks in the photo look nothing like each other.
Granted, this is not Apple who is saying this, just the fanbois, but still ... it's a huge, massive stretch! :D

At this rate they may just be granted a patent called rotate to move.
.
...AKA the wheel.....:wtf: then we all f'd besides those chinese that use maglev trains.

Chinese have got the patent on copying. Don't think you need to worry about them. :p

Check this. The iPhone 5 is already out there....
