Too big.
Agreed, I need a phone that fits in my shirt pocket though everyone I know who own Notes rave about them.
Too big.
Too big.
its NOT
have you ever touched/used a note?
size problems:
1) you love john travolta and the 70's and your wear skin tight jeans
2) you love your pants hovering under your ass
3) you carry your phone in a shirt pocket
4) your a normal SA guy/gal
Now...
1) 70's are long gone, wear decent jeans and grow up
2) the note will be waaaaay to big and heavy. the note will grab your butt and find its way into the darkest orifices your have. its SA not USA get a life and dress like a decent person. anyone who carries a note in their butt hole needs Dr Phil - lol
3) shirt pocket - i have no problems, except, what happens when you bend with your current phone? it falls out! most shirts I have gladly take my note and it never falls out. its a nice tight fit. my other phones fall out all the time. if it wont fit in a shirt pocket, use another pocket!
4) so, for any normal guys and gals, get some android perfection in the NOTE and carry it with pride
I work in construction, NO heavy duty cell is needed - dust, dirt, water - you name it, my note has come up tops.
Ok Just came back from Vodacom, was gonna check out the Note size to decide if I will renew my contract now or still wait till later, esp seeing that everyone is raving about it. Lucky for me they had a Demo unit that I could actually play with.
My impression. Man this phone sucks!!!!
No wonder iOS users complain about Android's smoothness, because the note's UI is everything but smooth!. I noticed lag left right and center, from opening the App's tray to adding widgets, I could clearly see stuttering and pauses as the phone's UI try to play catch-up with what I wanted it to do.
Sorry people, I am staying way clear of this one. And they way Samsung broke the UI is just wrong. The joke is I showed the sales person my HTC with MIUI and he was amazed at how smooth it was in comparison added to the fact the my HTC was running on a single 1 GHz core.
So in short, enjoy your phablet, I am not joining this family.

Gees, that's disappointing.
I played on one at Cellularcity Melrose about 6 weeks back. Came very close to cancelling my order for a 4s.
For me its big strength is also its big weakness IE 5.3" screen... As cool as that screen is, it's just not practical for everyday usage... and no!!, I'm not about to replace my wardrobe to accommodate a smart phone...
TBH I don't see how the note would work for me, sometime I find my SGS2 even a bit to big for single hand action...
I'm strangely aroused by the OP.
1) If a phone can't be held securely between the base of my index finger and the last joint on my middle finger then it's too big.
2) If I have to shift it's position in my hand so my thumb can reach the top left corner then it's too big.

Elimentals, you know that a demo model like that has been messed around so that OS and hardware speed cannot be measured by playing with it?
I have a Note and it is lightning fast (rooted and unrooted). Never ever had lags of any sorts and mine is loaded to the brim.
The Note is the first phone that meets my requirements in full. To date every single phone I got had limitations, but not this one. It does everything and does it very well.
Maybe it might be because I am spoiled with MIUI or it might be because it was a demo and people probably did all kinds of **** to it. The fact remains the stutter put me right off. I was a tad uneasy about the size so I needed that extra to make the push, wich clearly did not happen.
