That doesnt sound like a bad idea.If you think that it is correct then buy your Apple shares right now !!!
Google will probably report about $6.5 billion in total revenue when it releases its first quarter results later this week. Apple's iPhone alone will very likely eclipse $11 billion for the March quarter. For 2011, Google is expected to report about $27 billion on the top line compared to the iPhone's expected $48.2 billion in revenue. The iPhone as a business is nearly twice the size of Google's entire operation.
That doesnt sound like a bad idea.
While the market share stats are nice for PR, a companies success will ultimately be judged on its bottom line. Here's a view from the financial perspective ...

The part that stands out for me is ...
Now thats some perspective. The iPhone alone will bring in double the money that everything Google does, and remember its just one of Apple's product lines. Going forward the iPad is most likely going to be their next cash cow.
Of course, collectively the Android ecosystem (HTC, Samsung etc.) will produce more revenue, but the hardware partners are essential passive passangers when it comes to the evolution of the platform (they would jump ship if a new superior ecosystem were to evolve). You do realise that Android isn't just about Google? Especially when it comes to earnings.

Its Google alone that steers the ship and its their investment in R&D that will determine pace of forward evolution. But in the continuing innovation arms race they're stacked up against an advesary with a clear superiority in wealth & resources (not that that guarantees victory).
If you look at the past, Apple been in this exact same place... just before Jobs ran the company to the ground.....Lets just hope history doesn't repeat itself.
Really? Despite it being idiotic to compare the situations I would love to hear how you believe Steve Jobs ran the company into the ground.
I believe Woz is going to become more prominent at Apple as Jobs fades out and that is something to see forward to. He's the real deal. He's already making noises of a more open Apple ecosystem. Apple has got a huge amount of energy that hasn't been released yet.
