Another Cybersmart thread.

I don't in fact even know if I am on Smart Business at the moment, it's one of the questions I have enquired about (reason I am curious, is there appears to be a 300 gig limit in my control panel).

If it is indeed a Smart Business account, well, it's performing as indicated by my comments in the thread - IE, unusable for games at this stage, but fine other than that.
 
I sent a mail to support a couple hours ago. Look forward to a resolution.

Okay. Problems. Well, problem. Testing their capped account at the moment, and it's working well enough, aside from one enormous issue - Diablo 3 is unplayable. Latency stays green for a bit, then orange, then red where it stays.

Testing with another ISP yields a perfect stable ~200 ms connection.

Will contact Cybersmart and see if there is a particular issue with D3 (there is, clearly).

After having spoken to them earlier in the week, this account should be completely unshaped, which is certainly not the case for Diablo 3.

I'm currently on a discontinued account, the business premium uncapped account. Costs R996 including line rental (10mb) but performance is superb, on all protocols 24/7, p2p, http, nntp etc etc etc. I don't game though so critically that is one area I cannot comment on. I assume the smart business uncapped you currently on costs R899 per month all inclusive?

Not sure why you testing a capped account but there shouldn't be any performance issues on a capped account.

Email Laurie direct and tell him of the issues you are experiencing. You can also request an upgrade to the premium business account @ R996. Although discontinued I'm sure he can accommodate special requests for it.

I am not currently on Smart Business, turns out we are on the normal uncapped. Was thinking of Smartbusiness, but the guy I spoke to suggested the super size me thing, with 100 gigs of capped.

This actually suits me much better, as I want unshaped bandwidth for gaming, and I am perfectly happy that no one on the network is able to torrent before midnight.

Why I am on an unshaped account at the moment, is that Cybersmart provided me with a test account, as I wanted to get Diablo 3 working correctly as well as be able to download updates to Path of Exile, which was not working either.

I just wish Diablo 3 would work now, is all.
 
Fair enough. They got a lot of unique offers and packages. Haven't scrutinized some of their latest offerings but find it gets a bit contrived and the waters muddied with some of their "schemes". Not to say they don't work, just prefer a "vanilla" product that works as it should!

Not sure why Diablo's not working for you. I'll send Laurie the link to this thread, maybe there's a quick fix he can action in the meantime...

Okay, this is getting rather strange:

The latency spikes when there is action on the screen.

It did not do this at all when using another ISP. What gives?
