Another "New PC Build" Help

Yeah to be honest am leaning more towards aio from corsair. If I was going to get H75, surely then it makes more sense to spend the R200 extra and go for H80i GT V2?

Yes I would say so, also from what I can gather online the tubes seem to be ~30 cm so I think you should be able to mount it in the front of the case rather than have everything cramped in the back, but either way back or front is going to fit.

OK great.

Yeah I'd prefer to mount in the front so it is out of the way.

I will then order the H80i GT V2 then.

Thanks again for your help.

I also just now thought about it, since the H80 is dual fan, if no one ever sees the backside of your case you can remove the back fan, mount the radiator and front fan inside the case and then mount the other fan outside, that way it sits more flush but this is only going to work if your case sits in a way where no one sees the back.

This is the correct one hey (to work with LGA1151) - Corsair H80i

(edit for my stupidness) - I could try this and see how it goes. Does it work better on the back instead of the front of the case?

So would I then have to keep the back casing off all the time? Won't then alot of dust come in?

No, not the side panel, I mean the back like where all the connectors are, look at this pic, see how thick it is, my thought was you can remove the one fan and mount it outside of the case, this is just something to consider, mounting it in the front is probably going to be best overall anyway.

and yes that is the one, all the LGA 115X have the same mounting bracket, Intel hasn't changed it in years.

So I found a second hand Corsair H75 for R750 - should I rather go for that and save roughly R800 or just buy new? It's roughly 1.5 years old.

See if you can get the H100i for R1000.

It's too bad the Antec ones have blue LED fans.

I already tried but it is sold. Spoke to the seller earlier. Gonna keep looking tho and see what I can find.

There is another one where the radiator is dusty as hell but it's still a H100i GTX, you just need to clean it, and another H100i v2 for R1400 that's only four months old.

I would hurry and get the H100i v2 for R1400 before it's gone.

It looks like I am taking the 4 month old one - it is also H100i GTX V2 and works out same price as buying the H80i which is a bargain in my eyes.

The dusty one is the GTX and the V2 is the four month old one, the only difference being the V2 units have had their CPU blocks slightly tweaked to ensure compatibility with some Skylake m-ITX boards that may have components really close to the socket.

I'm starting to become very jealous of your new system, it's going to look awesome.

I'll be waiting for your next thread somewhere over the next 12 months asking about GPU upgrades.;)

Yeah after my comment I saw the GTX is now the V2.

I need to control my spending but have already sneakily started looking at GPU prices...

This thread went much smoother than the last one, your previous thread lasted 77 days and had 30 pages.

Hahaha this is very true. I came in kinda knowing what I wanted this time and I think GPU discussions take up the most "pages".

Except now for the 380x, which is still great for 1080P, your system is going to be awesome and look amazing.

We can only hope so. Will be a long wait as the Phanteks case I want is only expected to be in stock on Wootware 22 May :(

That's not too bad, you'll get all the parts next week and the case the week after.

That's if they receive the stock on time. We shall wait and see.

Going to be worth it in the end.

I'm already thinking with the red and black theme you're going to need one of the new Vega cards when they launch, something like the Powercolor Red Devil version.

Maybe for Christmas.

You could have bought this. It's cheap and relatively small. You don't need much to cool a CPU running at stock speeds.

I have the same case you bought and the cooler looks good in it, imo.
