Antec case has no power

i think it's their right to remove the PSU but they have to specify it and they should change the original product/model code on their list.

They should remove it completely, I would get highly irate if I ordered something that was tampered with, by the retailer of all people.

Digital Planet has always sucked, you just need to take a quick look through the forums here to see how disliked they are.
The difference in price between getting an Antec 500W PSU and not getting one is pretty big and you probably find the buyer would not have ordered if they had seen the case didnt include it...

Just my 2cs,

Sometimes SA suppliers do not include the power supplies as stated on the manufacturers site. I think this has to do with the manufacturer not including it with the shipments and not the SA supplier.

Apparently they only find out that the product is out of stock when they place the order with the supplier.

This has got to do with suppliers in South Africa. They refuse to give out stock availability to clients on like a daily basis. You have to ask them once you know what you need.

It would make life allot easier for online shops and yours when placing orders if they did do this.

EDIT. BTW not saying anything about Digital Planet or what happend. Just providing some insight! :)

HI there,

I have read all of your comments and understand your frustration. I do rely on our suppliers at times for info and if there is an issue on our site I make sure that it is rectified immediately. This particular error was rectified and the customer was sorted out. I am doing everything I can to improve the service at Digital Planet and if you do come across any areas that you feel need more attention then please do email them through to me. The only way we can improve is to receive feedback.

Kind Regards,
Karyn

Well done on creating a profile here to at least show some form of 'face' to Digital Planet. It is a lot more than can be said of other service providers.

A word of advice, maintain your presence. One or two posts may appease the aggrieved for a few days, but should you not maintain it, it will look as though you posted purely due to the bad publicity created by the article.

Welcome to the forums.

How did the PSU go missing?

Thanks for the feedback... for one, please guarantee the client an order cancellation and instant refund if they opt to cancel the order when you discover that stock is not available... otherwise it negates the benefit of buying online. Taking money before checking on stock is just not done...

Thank you

Karyn

Hi there,
Thank you for your welcome :-) I am new to the forums so have much to learn on that front.

Hi Fudzy,
Thanks for your reply:). The PSU never went missing. It was an error on the info which we rectified.
Thank you

According to the Antec site the TX1050 is a discontinued model.

OTOH, when it was in production, the case did include the power supply.

Best guess: this is old stock, where one of the staff have 'borrowed' the PSU.

:(

I think it's stock that arrived with a faulty CPU and it was more cost effective to advertise and sell it without the PSU... pity about the advertising glitch... am I correct?

Hi Brad,

Afraid not. It was an error on the product information.

Lol - so you are seriously telling us that Digital Planet ordered cases without Power Supply Units to resell? Seriously - who breaks their case these days - or buys a computer without a PSU - I find that bizzare and funny... or am I misreading you :p

The truth is most cases now days do not come with PSUs.

The cheaper cases do but the more expensive ones 9 out of 10 times do not come with a PSU.

I think the manufacturers do this so they can sell more of the more expensive power supplies.

I know that many computer places sell cases without PSU's.

So maybe it was a error, but in the long run, DP should've just given the guy a PSU (to show good faith) which they didn't even bother to do.

You mean to tell me, losing out on ±R500 would kill them?
No, instead, they've lost ALOT more, that I can tell you.

See the hole... DP has dug such a deep one for themselves... getting out is going to be a moerse mission.
