Antenna and Mast Grounding

So I'm just getting into playing around with my SDR a bit more.
I bought a discone antenna and now a 6m mast. The mast I'll mount against the chimney, so it will be about 8m high.
Nearby is a lightning conductor, 15m high.

Would the following make sense.
Ground the mast using it's own earth spike.
Ground the outer shielding of the coax to the same spike.
Then I was thinking of adding an earth strap between the mast and the lightning conductor?

I'm just a bit paranoid of lightning after we took a direct hit to our house recently.

I'll get some 10 AWG wire to attach the mast to the spike.

I wasn't going to use an inline surge protector as I figured I'd disconnect any devices when there's a storm around.
But thinking about it, even if disconnected the surge running down the coax into the house is a fire risk.

Yeah, true. Not sure about in-line coax surge arrestors… does such a thing exist?

They do, but I was just reading about them and they aren't recommended due to the possible signal loss.
So as far as the coax goes they recommend grounding the outer shield.

The reason I want to connect the mast to the lightning conductor is I've read never have 2 separate earthing points as it can cause a difference in potential electrical build up.
