I was going to post it under the Addiction advice thread but it seemed inappropriate.
Swim - Someone who isn’t me
This is an opposite story: The lack of taking drugs.
Swim is diagnosed with MPD (Multiple Personality Disorder). Nothing crazy, just (as Swim would put it) a few mood swings.
Now, Swim hates medication. Swim complains about feeling “funny” or it makes Swim feel “stupid”.
Swim decided a long time ago that Swim would rather live with the “mood swings” than let the medication make Swim feel funny or stupid.
A few months ago, Swim noticed another “mood” that scared the crap out of Swim. It was a vitriolic mood, spiteful in nature and unpleasant.
Flashback to the present and Swim needed some pain pills. Swim stood in front of the medicine cabinet and gazed upon the many unopened bottles and packets of medication.
Swim took two pain pills, that normally knocks Swim on Swims butt.
Swim took two more...and then two more. Swim looked upon in horror as Swim started opening box after box of medication, downing their contents.
Swim survived the ordeal (boring details deleted) and ended up in hospital, where Swim was treated as a typical attention seeking suicide patient. Swim did not mention the MPD nor did Swim keep the follow-up appointments.
Swim has destroyed all medication in the house but has succumbed to a form of anaclitic depression.
Can Swim ride it out without medication?
