Any ADSL modem/router recommendations

Guys I am looking to upgrade from my old (schitte) Telkom branded Netgear DG384 router to something else.

What's a good option under R1k for a household that has 3-5 wireless devices and 2 wired devices? Used for gaming, p2p and general web stuff.

I would recommend just getting a wireless AP and keep the router if it works. My experience with wireless routers isn't that great, the router will fall over when there is heavy wireless traffic and network traffic. You can get a 8 port gigabit switch and a separate wireless AP for under R600

I just use a Linksys modem/router - X3000. Slightly more expensive than R1K, but definitely worth it because you get simultaneous dual band and 300Mbps wireless (if you have adapters capable of that). Mine handles 10 users with no problems.

i have a cheapo tp link (w8950) modem/router that I bought for 350 bucks? I had it for 2 years and absolutely no issues. i have 5 wireless devices and 1 wired connection and it works 100% with absolutely no issues!

Just get the TP-Link TD-W8968. For the price you won't find better.
