Anyone being nawty?

Record companies for one oft rig the stats - they claim music sales are down due to piracy but they do not note that in their statistics they include vinyl/casette sales - no s h i t its down, you are including dead mediums to rig the stats.

Do they work it out on pirated media confiscated, downloaded, content available?
Because as was pointed out before, most people would not buy alot of the stuff downloaded in the first place. Its just not worth the money really.

I still buy original dvd's (really good classics) music cd's (financial gain, dj'ing) and tv series.
I still go to the cinema from time to time. I still buy some pc games that I feel are worth it and some I want to play online.
I still pay my tv license, even though I never watch tv.

So really, whats changed?

Oh I know. Im coughing up money to telkom. Im buying shares in my local computer shop with hard drives and dvd's. And Im making friends with common interests.

Yeah... seems I'm the only one whos in DEEP SHYTE but ag you know... pointless stressing about it.

I'll deal with it, make plans to pay it off or something.
I've got 2/3 friends who've said they'll give me R200 each to help since some of the stuff I D/L'd was for them.

And it's just typical... seriously, at school, people would bunk and get away with it, but as soon as I did, I got busted.

*sob* I'm just used to being picked on!

Why can't you just buy another 4/5 X 3GB TI accounts? That would give you 120/150GB local...? :D
 
I'm going to speak to Telkom on Wednesday and ask them if I can do this.

But I don't wanna speak to those stupid people on the phones, I wanna go into a Telkom branch and actually try speak to someone who HAS SOME brains.

I wonder if I can do this... I thought about it, they should allow me to do it - but I'm almost expecting Telkom to be a complete 'c---' about it and not let me do it, just to bill me R4000+ and try make a point.

It's not like they are the most helpful people out there.

Yeha, go into a branch for sure. That is always the best idea. Try to speak tp the manager of the branch at least. Don't waste your time on the phones.
 
Went into a Telkom branch in Cape Town and they told me that they can't help me because it doesn't show on my invoices etc.

However, they logged a dispute regarding the call and how I was told to pay R4000 (actually, the guy said R2000 but ya)

Let's hope it doesn't take forever for TelkomSA to get back to me.
 
Gl Gdiza. I really hope they forget about you!

Get it in writing so the rest of us can use the ammo to prove that they've set a precident.
 
I really hope they forgot about me... simply becuase if not, I'm sooooooooooo screwed!

I'll be asking for donations!
