Hi

Is there anyone here doing slender wonder?

I started last week Tuesday and I'm really worried I'm not going to loose the amount of weight I want, because of the crappy surgery I got it from.

I live in Vredenburg and went to a doctor who is registered on the slender wonder website. I got the starter pack, but they gave me the booklet in Afrikaans and when I requested an English booklet since I don't understand or read the language, the lady told me they cannot order the booklets on their own and that it comes with the pack, but she would explain everything to me. I was irritated, but took it.

The next two days were confusing as I wasn't sure whether I was supposed to start the injections on the binge days or not so I called her and asked for the English booklet and she gave me the same story. I insisted and she said she would try and see if anyone had an English copy I could borrow. She still hasn't gotten back to me and they closed last week Friday till next week. Anyway so I've been using Google translator and asking people in stores like an idiot to translate for me.

I just want to confirm that I'm doing it right:
Day 1: I got the booster injection and ate normal.
Day 2: I injected myself, took 4 WonderCleanse supplements and 15ml of the pineapple tasting liquid(Can't remember what it's called) and started breakfast with a half slab of chocolate, rusks and I can't remember what else. I was told I could eat whatever I liked and as much as I liked. I really pigged out for supper cause I had 8 zinger wings and 3 pieces of chicken :o
Day 3-5: I injected myself and took the liquid and CLA supplements. They told me to drink the shake plus 300g of apple for breakfast, then 300g apple for lunch and supper. I was also supposed to drink 2ltrs of water. All of which I did. I took 2 Wondercleanse supplements before bed according to what the book said.
Day 6-9: I inject myself and take the liquid supplement (which I forgot last night and this morning), then I follow the meal plan for the day as per the booklet. I drink all the other supplements minus the WonderCleanse 30mins before a meal and 2 WonderCleanse at night. I also drink roughly 2-3ltrs of water per day.

I weigh all my food as per the booklet. I'm supposed to only have a 100g of protein, but I noticed yesterday after cooking my protein that it weighed only 58g. Am I supposed to weigh it before or after it's cooked?

I haven't weighed myself since they weighed me last week, but I haven't felt any change in my work uniform, which is what counts for me. I cheated on Sunday with a half apple and Monday with a full apple. Plus I split a protein bar between those days.

I find myself pre-occupied with food if I'm not busy and I've been reading the 'What's for supper' thread on here for days which is not helping. Like right now I'm thinking how I'm going to murder a burger, spareribs, cerberus' onion rings, Picards' yummy looking chicken with the curry sauce.

I was impressed with myself on Monday though, cause I went to Spur with some friends who all ate burgers, but I stuck to my two glasses of water.

Oh yes I forgot to mention that as terrified as I am of needles, these ones don't hurt. I was pleasantly surprised as the injections are what have kept me from doing this for so long. I haven't tried injecting my bum cause I think that WILL hurt, so I've only done my tummy. I pinch the flesh hard and don't feel the needle as it goes in (well on most days) but I feel it when the liquid is going in.

I met a wonderful mother and daughter yesterday at Pick n Pay who saw me with the book as I was asking someone to translate for me. The daughter is also doing it and has lost almost 7kg in two weeks. I explained my struggle and they told me some of the methods were wrong. They said the booklet is not really useful and the doctor should have given me another paper with the most updated menu and instructions.

When I want to lose body fat, I just eat clean. Cut out all the treats. eat lots of steamed veggies, Eat a lot less meat, chicken and fish like twice a week. Oats for breakfast. Drink lots of water. and it works. no injections or anything else required. except some good old exercise.

I tried that. I did an 8 week liver cleanse diet which was basically eating loads of veggies, less meat and drinking lots of water. I was also doing Zumba 3 days a week. I lost 8kg which was great and when I ate too much rubbish I felt sick afterwards, but gradually I gained all the pounds back again. Back at square one again.

When I was weighed last week I was back to 90kg. I really want to go back to my 60. Everyone I speak to is losing and one of my closest friends lost half of herself on slender wonder and she says she is more or less maintaining it. I figure if she can maintain it despite drinking like a fish then there's hope for me.

I did Lara. But it seems like they're closed for the holidays. I also contacted Skin Renewal in Cape Town, but they say the doctor doesn't fall under their group.

The injections are supposed to balance your leptin levels and help your body get rid of bad fat.

:wtf: injections?

+1 it boggles my mind what some people will do just so they dont have to eat healthy and exercise.
I am so thankful that I actually like being active and find cooking tasty healthy food easy.

OP if you want to have a healthy lifestyle you need to change your lifestyle, I have seen a few people go through the process and once they stopped with all the excuses and started enjoying the exercise instead of seeing it as a punishment and started eating better they were all better for it. Good luck and hope you have success.

Knew someone that did this. Those injections crystallized the fat and they had to get surgery to remove it afterwards. Not sure this is worth it.

She has now lost a metric ton of weight after starting kick boxing 4 times a week.

I could write an essay about this, and I'm going to try not to.

Basically, I can't understand why you'd need to inject yourself for a diet. Weight loss is simple, it's burning more calories than you're putting into your body, all you need to do is stay at a caloric deficit, drop your carbs right down, and keep your proteins high, fats can stay average. The minimum calorie intake for a female per day is around 1600 calories and 1800 for a male, find out how much you need to maintain your body weight, through trial and error, then drop that by around 200-300 calories.

When they say you need to get 100g of protein per day, they don't mean actually physically weighing the protein, they mean go according to the nutritional value of the food, for example a tin of tuna has roughly 30grams of protein.

You should research what you're putting into your body, because this seems very extreme, I'd rather do the whole banting thing than even try this sort of diet.

Another problem is that even if this diet works for you and you get to your goal weight, you are going to struggle to maintain it because your body is no longer getting all these injections , etc.

There is no easy way/shortcut to weightloss, it's a lot of hard work and dedication, people really need to realize that.

Don't think I"m bashing what you're doing, it's good to see people making an effort. Just giving advice on my years of experience with the subject.

I dont really like that phrase, to me people should find an exercise they enjoy doing that way the exercise is not hard work but fun and something to look forward to. Same with the food, there are many ways to make healthier food thats still good to eat for instance chilli hot wings made in the oven instead of KFC is a pretty big calorie difference and still a really good treat once in a while.
You dont have to punish yourself by eating just boiled broccoli every night.

I used to live the healthy lifestyle. I went to gym twice a day, in fact I was kind of addicted. I ate healthy, but still had my junk food (biscuits and chocolates are my Achilles heel) which stayed off, because I exercised twice a day.

But I went through a bad emotional patch some years ago and I've just never been able to recover from it weight wise. I get what you're all saying, but I've come to the point where I feel I need to do something else. I've tried the eating healthy and exercise option and every-time, I gain it all back again when I feel down. I was starting to encroach on size 38 when I decided enough is enough. If this will help me lose then I'm willing to give it a try.

wezzcoetzee, an example lunch/supper in the booklet is:

120g Salad (lettuce, cucumber and tomato) / Mixed veg (Brusselsprouts, broccoli and cauliflower)
100g Chicken Breast/Topside/Kingklip

And I was told to always weigh my food. How do I measure the nutritional value of the protein unless I physically weigh it? It's just so confusing which is why I was hoping someone here can help.

I used to do Zumba 3 times a week and I totally loved it, but the gym here only does it one evening a week and I hate taibo and boot-camp. Food wise, it's not that I don't like cooking, I do, but it's boring cooking for just myself and my dog. So it's always easier to break out the biscuits and chocolate or takeaway :( Also I'm the quite type and don't really like humans, so I mostly avoid them as much as possible which means I spend most of my days after work in front of my tv or laptop.

You'l find a lot of introverts on here, me included for me its about planning better if you prepare a few meals over the weekend that you can just reheat or find a few quick recipes like stirfry that takes less time and effort than going to the takaways that helps.

You dont have to associate with people to exercise although us introverts probably should why dont you do the zumba in the week and take the dog for a long walk on the weekend I'm sure the dog will enjoy it too then go from there.
I think you are just a bit depressed and holding yourself back and you should try Richard Bransons advice which is "screw it lets do it" I think we are our own worse enemies and hold ourselves back too much.

Yeah yeah everyone saying eat clean and train more. It simply doesn't work that well for everyone.
