Anyone here on Slender Wonder Program?

No problem. I was also having a super bad day and shouldn't have flown off the handle.

Anyhow I'm on cloud 9 today. I had my measurements today and I lost 4.5kg. Not bad for two weeks. She told me how many centimetres I also lost, but didn't hear anything after 4.5kg. My new goal is to lose 5.5kg in the next two weeks bringing my total to 10kg for the month.

And I finally got an English copy of the book and like I thought, I missed some steps. I could have lost more, but I'm still happy and proud of myself.

Good job! Not sure about your methods, but if you can keep it off with exercise and diet alone once you cease this program then I think you're still coming away the winner here.

Target weight of 60kg?
You sure that is not too low? Guess it would be ok for a very short and skinny girl???

Can't speak for SaoirseB, but according to wiki the average Ghanaian lady is 159cm. The WHO recommended BMI range for this height is 47kg to 63kg.

:D :D
And That is what they tell you ;)

Except that you self inject, and open the vial yourself. I hardly think a licensed pharmaceutical company is going to be putting a bunch of nonsense into a hormone sold as a drug.

Awesome! Just make sure you have a plan in place to maintain it :)

*cough * slender BS *cough*

You can cough all you want. I happened to have read the book of the guy who came up with the idea, and I have looked at both sides of the argument. Regardless of whether the HCG has any effect or not, the 500 calorie starvation diet will cause weight loss. It's all good and well everybody coming up with negative remarks, but I think it's more important to congratulate the OP on taking some steps towards changing her future, and to also encourage her to look at the lifestyle changes needed to maintain the weight loss.

I also read the book I also did the slender diet, I also am a experienced individual in this field. I will not make a comment like that if I cannot back it up.

And I will say it again as it was said before.

There are other more efficient less harmful ways to achieve far better results a lot quicker.

Yes hats of to the OP, taking a step to better health.

But don't get fooled by BS like this.

You read Dr Simeon's book? Is the slender protocol the same as his?

It's not too bad. I make people speak English. I have my own car so I spend most of my weekends in Cape Town. I've been to both recommended places and the beaches are great.

60 was my normal weight, so I wanna go back to that. And the main draw for me with this diet is that you can maintain the weight loss, at least most of the people I've spoken to are more or less maintaining their weight.

Thanks for your encouragement and I will keep you posted.

How you surviving in Vredenburg with all the Afr mense?
Do you have access to a car?
Drive to Paternoster or Jacobsbay and take a long walk on the beaches there.
If you like cycling, you really have a some good roads out there with nice wide shoulders. Wind could be an issue, so be aware....

Weight loss should really NOT be about how much you can loose in a short time, but maintaining a certain loss for an extended time.

Cooking for 1 is also not fun, so good luck with the efforts and keep us updated on the progress.

There are 100 ways to lose weight, it's the maintaining that is the problem. If you can figure out how you got overweight in the first place, then you know exactly what not to do again :D

That's my plan exactly. Part of the maintenance process is to do the diet every Monday and Thursday. And if I over indulge, I eat less and exercise more.
I just just beat the average at 160cm so 60 is my correct weight.

Thanks everyone for all the encouragement :) I really appreciate it.

And Thor, did you lose anything when you did the diet? Were you able to maintain? And what are the more efficient ways?

OK let me get this straight: are you supportive or critical of this "diet"? Those hormone injections are expensive and if they have no effect, it is paramount to a scam, isn't it?
Also how can you use words like "starvation diet" and "lifestyle changes" in the same argument/point??

No one with a shred of intelligence can congratulate anyone for using a starvation diet as "taking steps towards changing her future".

The basics Thor has 100% correct, you need to take in less calories than you burn = Weight loss.

I went twice on the Atkins eating plan and lost weight on both occasions, and pretty quickly with little to no exercise. Lots of protein with tons of veges and very moderate carbs all downed with plenty of water. Only low carb fruits.

Won't recommend LCHF diets as its just not practical.

Atkins is the only practical diet that works for the best results.

OK let me get this straight: are you supportive or critical of this "diet"?

I am neither supportive nor critical of the diet. I am only 100% in support of anything that anybody does that is a step in the right direction.

Those hormone injections are expensive and if they have no effect, it is paramount to a scam, isn't it?

Dr Simeons first published his book 1954, and to this date the debate rages about whether the injections do anything, because the 500 calorie starvation diet will produce weight loss anyway. There just have not been any properly designed trials to prove or disprove the idea.

The waters are further muddied by all the homeopathic versions! Yes... some people are injecting a hormone, and others are putting a homeopathic version under their tongue.

Also how can you use words like "starvation diet" and "lifestyle changes" in the same argument/point??

The diet is a starvation diet, which you obviously can't keep on doing, hence gently encouraging the point that a complete lifestyle change will be needed to maintain any weight loss.

No one with a shred of intelligence can congratulate anyone for using a starvation diet as "taking steps towards changing her future".

The OP has taken a step forward to change her life, and deserves congratulations - she is one step further than the majority of people.

I happen to have used HCG before, but I wouldn't use it again. I personally now prefer a more natural foods, lower carb diet, but I am not going to come and rain on the OPs parade and tell her that only I know the truth, and only my ways are right. It is her body, and it is for her to discover what works best in her life.

So I went for my third booster injection and weigh in yesterday and was so disappointed. I only lost 1.7kg over the last 2 weeks. I was so disappointed I almost gave up. The biscuit was halfway to my mouth when I thought about undoing all the hard work I'd already done. So I swapped it for half an apple instead. I think the 3 day detox during the first 2 weeks was why I lost 4.5kg. Anyway so I asked for a copy of my measurements from when I started and I was actually 90.5 when I started on Dec 16th so to date I've lost 6.2kg.

Centimeters wise I've lost:
Bicep: 1
Waist: 6
Bust: 16
Thighs: 5

I'm trying very hard not to focus on my disappointment and rather on the finish line. I guess losing a kg a week is not a bad thing if I increase my walking to 4 times instead of 2 per week. So I've adjusted my expectations and plans to 25 weeks in which to shed the remaining weight.

In the beginning I thought the food portion was too small, but now even the meat looks more than enough to my eyes and I find that by the time I'm almost done eating, I'm full. But I finish it, because I'm not supposed to under eat.

A kg per week is fine. Remember that hormones etc will from time to time mess with you weight loss. Just keep your eye on the prize and trust the program. I have lost 17.5kg since October with Dr Rossouw. It is also similar to the Slender Wonder diet. My biggest challenge is keeping the weight off...

I was googling slender wonder and found this thread. Did you achieve your goal weight? Friends of mine have lost ALOT of weight recently with this diet.
