Hey dudes and dudettes! I was reading this review http://outsourcehouse.co.za/afrihost-vs-gamco-vs-mweb-vs-openweb-uncapped-adsl-south-africa/ . According to this Gamco is SOOOOOOO awesome. Somehow I don't think so. Anyone else using Gamco? What's your opinion on it?

WHOEVER here is vouching for Gamco is a ****ing tool for PR. I, like an idiot got suckered into going with Gamco after reading this article. I have canceled my account in 11 days! Why? They throttle to an extend where you think you are running on dial up. I had a 1gig line on their 512kb uncapped package. I have tried downloading 9gigs of data in 9 days. That's 1 gig a day. That's ****all! They throttled me within 5 days! If you go with Gamco, I WARN you...you will be done in. My friend pointed me to Mweb's latest package and it looks amazing. Plus the network on Mweb is so big that your daily download limit can be HIGH and you won't get throttled. Gamco...no ways. Stay away.

I made the mistake of joining Gamco after reading that they are the best available in South Africa. Reading on their website’s FAQ it states that clients having a 384k basic line manages to download in access of 400gb a month with all user policies in place. That already is their first lie. I gave it a try and have been battling with them since week one. When I phoned and asked where is the problem they said they are busy upgrading their systems hence my problems with my internet and downloading, I gave them a month’s time for the upgrades but still battled with my internet. Even trying to download a email of only 580kb it fails to do so while having a 5 star usage rating which means it’s the best they give one. Doing speedtest even the one from their website it fails to complete or gives one a reading of 38kb/s on a 384kb line. I phoned them regarding the matter and they said it must be from Telkom’s side. I phoned Telkom and asked them if there is any problems from their side and they said no, they even gave me a test account and it was working 100%. I reported it again to Gamco and they said they will look into the matter, needless to say I’m still waiting for answers about the matter. So I have cancelled my account with them and will return back to Mweb. Wanted to upgrade at Gamco to a 1mb line but they don’t offer it where Mweb does and that’s what I can currently afford. So I would strongly discourage anybody to try their services.
