This is just an apology to Vodacom3g regarding this thread:
http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=122875
I would have posted in the thread but it was closed.

After reading it again, I realised I got it wrong and you obviously had some sort of understanding with MidnightWizard and the mood was indeed lighthearted, so my apologies.

Apologies to Syndre, Morkhans, Colin62, Iam3G, Gdiza and IC as well in the same vein.

I guess my misinterpretation probably stemmed from our disagreements in the VC roaming charges thread...

Ultimately disagreements are part of life and I guess it's easy to let them get personal at times, I wasn't intending to have a personal go... that said, I still have opinions, but they have absolutely nothing to do with you as a person....

Sorry guys, and Voda, I have to say despite the fact that we have differing opinions (and Telkom owns half of VC :D ), you are likely the best of the isp reps here, so kudos for your presence!

I didn't expect an apology but I'm glad you realised nothing was meant to be too serious. :)

Yeah lol, and I also didn't want anyone to think that I was siding with an arsonist by linking Skeptik's helopeter complaint :D ;)

Lol I didn't even notice you'd linked to it to be honest. Apologies if I said anythign I shouldn't have. ;)

Nice - being the bigger man - respect!

Just read the thead - yeah you were a bit pedantic about that single comment.

Cool, no probs. :)

I think the big thing (we all need to be aware of) is the fact that we only have what we wrote for others to fully interpret what we wanted to say. And the nuances on how we meant it.

Humans are, by nature, visual and aural in their communications, so if we remove these two components, what we write has to be so well constructed. But of course forums and forumites don't always do this, we often fire off short posts.

As long as we all realise no-one here is inherently evil (to steal from Google), I think we'll be fine.

Or at least most. I see there's a discussion going on in OT, where plans are being made to attack those who do not agree with others online. Scary stuff indeed.

So, glad to hear you're not part of the "we" conspiring to physically go and attack those who disagree online, phew. :)

Agreed, glad you popped in, when I'm in CT next, I'll pm you in advance, i owe u a drink.
Lol @ physical attack but yeah, it's sad that it has to spill over into reality... life's too short to live like that...

...Then again wasn't it Billy Connoly who said "What? life is short? Life is the longest thing you will ever do!"
Getting OT now lol...

This sounds lke an email etiquette course :D

I hope that OT thread is not directed at you. Regardless though, it serves little purpose and I dont think anyone should be encouraging physical retaliation for disagreeing with somebody online. Some people just dont know when/where to draw the line.

No need to apologise to me, although I appreciate the sentiment, as I'm sure v3g, Syndre, Morkhans, Colin62, Iam3G, and Gdiza do as well :).

My philosophy is essentially to take emotive & hot under the collar posts with a pinch of salt, try not to take anything personally, and have a short memory where conflicts on the internet are concerned, it doesn't help anyone to hold grudges for words posted on the internet. Every day is a new day on the internet and an opportunity to bury hatchets [in the ground] and move past petty differences of opinion.

I don't think you came across in a very agro way in the other thread, insistent yes, but definitely no harm done :).

Thanks, it was good of you. Re-reading, I made some comments that could stand for an apology themselves, so sorry if I offended you in the thread.

Colin
