Apple airport external HD

Hi,
Helping my brother out on this one !

He has a late 2008 Airport extreme with the latest firmware installed. He then connected a 1 Terrabyte external drive to the airport and use it in a windows environment. Everything works fine except that the external hd goes into sleep mode. Is there a setting or a program that he can run to keep the drive alive ?

It depends on the drive manufacturer, I've got a Lacie connected to my Time Capsule and as soon as I click on it it wakes up.

If you were on mac you could try the solution offered here.
Can't say that I've got the same problem though - my airport drives wake up when I want to use them.

Slightly OT but I have not looked back since purchasing a proper NAS and no more usb attached drives.
