Apple attempts AI comeback

Apple introduced a number of AI-powered features during the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday, even as long-awaited enhancements to its Siri voice assistant remain far off.

The announcements included an expanded relationship with ChatGPT maker OpenAI, which first teamed up with Apple last year and underpins many of the new capabilities that are coming to iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26 and visionOS 26 this fall.

Bit weird how Apple is slow with AI, maybe it's the other way around where AI is just moving so fast.
But then how was Google able to release Gemini as a standalone app and ChatGPT also has an Android embedded app
Is Siri still like Hey Google?

Yes AI that tells you to use glue to stick cheese on pizza is better.

Just like Google screws you over by handing off software support to hardware manufacturers.
That's not screwing you over. Google supplied an open source system to the manufacturer. It is the manufacturer's responsibility to support their hardware and updates because they are allowed to mod the original open source software. Now if it were a proprietary system then yes Google would have a responsibility as it would be closed source.

It is screwing you over. Windows can update on zillions of devices every day installed on zillions of different hardware. Meanwhile Google can't update perfectly good hardware like my Nova box that didn't get any updates and now get soft reboot software issues.

Is Windows open source? Can you send me the codebase please?

Don't know why you jumped to Linux now, but we can go with it. If I fork a version of Ubuntu and then mod it heavily, will Canonical still be responsible for updating my forked/modded version that I release on my BackstreetBook?

Why do you place so much emphasis on your Nova though? What’s happened? Did you get hacked?

I’ve never ever heard anyone complain as you and updates over the last few years. Pretty much just after buying an iPhone, you changed overnight regarding updates

Do you do it with everything else? TVs? WiFi APs? Your car? geyser timer?

It has software issues and I can't return it.
