Hmmm, Vodacom also made some comments about using 800MHz in future.

Ideally, for SA, I believe that 800/1800/2100/2600 would be a good range. But it should be OK.

Actually 800Mhz/2600Mhz are probably going to be the standardised frequencies in most of the GSM world going forward (with some 1800 MHz for early adopters).

From that point, the iPhone and iPad aren't really future proof, but then no one buys tech for what it might do in a year.

Unrealistic, what they do instead is let anyone who purchased one from them return it within 30 days.

I think after iPhone sales slumped before the 5 announcment they learned their lesson.

As an iPad 3 owner, I was also caught by surprise. I did not expect this. But I honestly do not think it is worth the upgrade. The most important consideration is the retina display. The added features of the iPad 4 is not a dealbreaker. My iPad 3 can happily march along for a another year or two. The good thing about Apple is that they keep pushing out software upgrades for even their older devices for quite a long time. We are not forgotten by Apple.

The iPad 4 is great news for those who watch software rendered 1080p or 720p MKV video with subtitles. The extra CPU power helps. But the lack of the old connector and same retina display makes the iPad 4 otherwise an unnecessary update for 4 users. Even the faster dual band Wifi is worthless as internet speed is usually limited by the networks outside world connection - which may be 4Mbps or 10Mbps and 150Mbps is more than enough.

Cheer up. iPad 4 will be obsolete in 6-7 months too. Better deal would be to buy a Krugerrand. At least it would still be worth something 7 months later. ;-)

No, it is only in the USA and then only certain stores. The best Core would do is to give you some kind of voucher but I even doubt that.
