According to you and the rest of the gang, I bought two iPhones with the sole intention of trolling you. I’m saying that if it was true, then it’s an extremely expensive ‘trick’ I’m playing on you.

It’s obviously not true. I didn’t buy anything to troll you. I didn’t subscribe to services to tell you they aren’t great. I didn’t have twins to prove that Face ID can’t tell them apart

Look at what I say in your quote … ‘the theory is’ I spent all the time and money to trick you
 
@Bernoldus Niemand Options are never a bad thing and seldom does a one size fits all just work - unless you pretend to love every choice made for you.

I’d love an option to either go into the phone direct or the notifications, rather than lie to myself that Apple chose the best for me and I must be grateful.

The same as Apple Music and their limitations and complex setup required to get things working optimally. Some people pretend they enjoy it (because they can’t do it any other way)

I’d love to sort my photos the way I want - not pretend that whatever Apple told me, is the best way and once again, I’m grateful that they chose for me

If I bought no phones, I'd still think it was this super amazing device thsat is decades ahead ... so I'm happy that I made up my own mind and saw it was hardly much better than anything else

Why make something more expensive for everyone that doesn't make sense for the majority?

If you have both and both unlock your device then your entire security argument is broken.

If you need to choose one, then you pretty much paid for the other one and you wasted your money on that and it adds user complexity and breaks the experience...which is against the entire Apple ethos.

Apple is all about making things as simple and straight forward as possible...just like they had the single mouse click for years and noobs believed you couldn't right-click yet it was all there all along.

Since either fail over to a PIN code then we might as well skip and just go back to that garbage, considering both are secondary re-authentication mechanisms why bother at all.

They sell different hardware....you have the choice to go TouchID if you feel like it.

The only reason TouchID still exists is because they are struggling to make FaceID work on the MacBooks...once that's there (and the design language is clearly preparing for it) TouchID will be murdered outright and rightfully so.

Instead the 0.05% of twins that may be affected by this can simply turn FaceID off while the rest of the world carries on with their lives. You don't cater to the minority.

Why bother with the A series processor for 4K rendering or games?
Why bother with a camera when a number have a SLR or mirror camera?
Why bother coding any accessibility options - it's added labour?
Why bother with faster charging, when the cheaper charging will work?
Why bother with IP rating?

So what you're saying is that everything Apple has included in brilliant / fantastic / they help everyone ... whatever they lack - you're agreeing with them? So again, you're just mirroring whatever they do on the spec sheet. Punting and applauding what they do (with no real thought or opinion of your own) and agreeing with whatever they leave out (with no thought or opinion)

My thought and opinion is that TouchID is garbage compared to FaceID...how that isn't clear to you after all this I cannot understand.

As for accessibility that plays right into the hands of FaceID....TouchID is not more accessible to anyone in any way it's always more of a burden to use. As someone who has worked with people with physical disabilities it is simply a no go.

The only reason it is still on the Mac is because they can't make FaceID work reliably and cost effectively to the same standard at the distances people sit from their machines.

Maybe because the sample aren't quite as fanatical as you?
So they give a real answer - while you're still trying to pretend what Apple told you?

I haven't even visited the Apple website since all these announcements went out.

Not a single thing I've said here is even remotely related to the garbage you've posted above.

They won't bring it back, it's a legacy technology they are working hard to phase out.
 
It seems Apple were testing Touch ID ... weird considering what you told me?
And the sample above prefer Touch ID?
And they're also talking about having two methods?
